Anyone else noticed Nas been doing more punchlines and double entendres on this Hit Boy run. He’s always had them but feel his rhymes got way more now than they did back in the 90s/ 2000s.
He gave Smack a shoutout on Dedicated.
He might've been tuning in recently and got a little inspiration. I've noticed the same thing.

This is like the fourth time Nas has peaked:

1991-1997- From his first verse up until The Firm.

2001-2003- The trifecta of Stillmatic, Lost Tapes and God's Son

2008-2012- Untitled, Distant Relatives, the guest verses leading up to Life Is Good and the Life Is Good album itself.

2020-present- KD, KD2, and Magic

Edit: extended the third prime to 2008 because of Untitled.

Even if Hit-Boy has weaknesses as a producer--and nobody is perfect--that's all offset by the fact that him and Nas clearly work so well together. So even if someone else's drums hit a little harder, they don't have the same chemistry with Nas at this moment in time so fukk it.

As a Nas fan, I'm just so happy with this run and glad we are getting at least one more. But damn, we need physicals of Magic!
