Comfortable 4.5 for me.

Speechless- Hard where to put it in his list of intro’s but as always a Nas intro delivers 5/5

meet Joe black- beat nice but got to be honest it has gotten a tad repetitive to me. Nas hunger on this crazy but rhymes wise most others tracks on the album better to me 4/5

Ugly- beat perfectly fits the mood of the song. Nas as always paints vivid pictures of New York. 5/5

40-16 Building- this meet Joe black but x 10. Beat slaps and Nas just bodies it. 5/5

Hollywood Gangster- nice switch up in the vibe. Very smooth. 4/5

wu for the children- song of the album for me. 5/5

wave gods- should be a single if they do one. 4.5/5

the truth- similar to 40-16 Nas just bodies it. 5/5

dedicated- perfect end to the album. For some reason the image of that carlito line and the beat fits so well. 5/5.

I actually started watching Carlito's Way yesterday on the strength of that line lol. I forgot how long that movie is though. Ended up getting busy before I could see the end scene that Nas was talking about.

Nas got a Grammy with Hit Boy then turned around and released a sequel that was the second most acclaimed Rap Album of the year THEN turned around and dropped a third album that is being pretty much universally praised by his fans.

Meanwhile Madlib can’t even release the album he recorded with Black Star because he forgot the samples he used and therefore can’t get them cleared…

If Nas did what fans wanted him to do he’d be right where Talib and Mos Def are right now…

Yeah this is facts. Them Freddie Gibbs albums took mad years to release.

At least Hitboy is reliable :pachaha:

It feels like "Rare" from KD2 was the template/standard for Magic. "Big Nas" from the Master Class has the same vibe. "Rare" had that vintage '90's Nas sound to it too, but with a little futuristic twist to it. The difference is "Rare" morphs three different times and there's nothing that sounds like the third beat on Magic. That's crazy.

Damn thats a crazy analysis .. I never thought about that until now.

But I'm saying at this point if Nas decided yo, I'm gonna do a madlib/alc project, you think that shyt aint all getting cleared and dealt with the way it should be?

Thats a crazy fumble from Madlib I cant lie ... but Alc doesnt have them issues, he knows what hes sampling and notes it down and i assume Madlib started doing that for albums IE with Gibbs. You cant hold that against them.

Its like people forget that Alc x Gibbs was up for a grammy that same year Nas won it, and a lot of people think that they should have won

Im saying the Hitboy shyt worked, I love it, its great ... but I dont want to hear him over Hitboy for the rest of my life.

You telling me that a Nas X Alc/Madlib album wouldnt bang? Why does Nas always have to have some sort of commercial appeal to his music?

It would be fukking glorious fam.

It would but in music and life you can’t have it all (Alc and premo are actually 1 and 2 in my rap list also), it’s better to just enjoy the moment and let things play out, Nas has a few classics with Alc so at least we’ve got that, in the future I think he may or may not go back to him as a producer but for now I’m just enjoying the work with Hit-Boy,

Nas started off his rap career working with a myriad of producers and none of them were Alc or Madlib so with or without these guys Nas is still Nas, and Hit-Boy is making a claim to be just as good as these guys too.

Meet Joe Black came out in 1998, in the 23 years since its release the only hip hop song in history to use that name is ours
