Finally got to sit and listen to this. Pretty good. More of an edge than KD 1 and 2. My inner Hip-Hop nerd doesn't like Premo just scratching over a beat he could have made way better himself, but oh well.

The LIG videos made perfect sense.

Nasty was the street single in the same vein as Made You Look, released almost a year prior to the album’s completion was a dope video.

Daughters was the official single, a single that ended up earning Nas a Grammy nom. Of course it would get a video.

The Don was the single for New York and its video was an ode to the city.

Bye Baby was speaking to core theme of the album. Nas had said numerous times before that the album was meant to be his “Here, My Dear”. So it made sense to make a video about the dissolution of his marriage.

Cherry Wine also earned Nas a Grammy nomination and is considered amongst Nas’s best “love” songs. After two street edged singles, an ode to his daughter, and a song about divorce and heartbreak, it made sense for Nas to show a little love to the ladies.
Yes i agree on his artistic direction. was just pointing out that fans expectation are never his drive on doing vids.
If u check in most threads since LIG many posted expectations from some fans on what tracks they wished would have vids were never matched.
Vids for singles b4 album drops are obvious, its the ones where and album comes and then a video latter on that some fans expect one thing and the artist does another.
If u check in the KD2 thread most fans never wished for Brunch on Sundays.

I got so many kids in the game it’s like a gender revealing
I got that feeling Lionel Richie Dancin’ on the Ceilin’
Hope it resemble a Van Gogh when you paint me the villain
The hate is real but you should know that the love is way realer
Crafty with a pen way before I could pack ‘em in
Nasty with dreads a slim teen, young, I was passionate
A brand new book crackling sound when you open I’m writing gems
I make gospel in the booth it might sound like I’m writing hymns

I rewinded those bars so many times:dead::ahh: It's like son chipped his tooth again:wtf: got into this nikka with this album?

"Put designer with the Timbs wooow :krs:"

:dead: Nas swag was on a billion on this joint. The second verse is even better.

I think people are forgetting one crucial fact…

A Nas/Alch Album
Nas/Madlib Album
Nas Premo Album
Nas/Large Pro Album
Nas/AZ Album
Nas/Firm Album

Would not work for one simple reason…

Nas does NOT WANT TO DO THAT shyt

If Nas wanted to do an album with Premier then he would’ve been the first person Nas hit up when he was free of Def Jam. Nas could’ve done an album with Alchemist at any point the past 20 years. He had an entire album recorded with Timbaland that Timbaland said he was his best production in years. Nas wasn’t feeling it.

If NAS isn’t inspired to do the shyt, then forcing him to work with a producer, ANY PRODUCER, is going to turn out horribly. Nas needs to be inspired and for whatever reason Alchemist is the producer for Armand Hammer and Boldy James. NOT Nas. Madlib is the producer for MF Doom and Freddie Gibbs. NOT Nas. Premier is the producer for Royce Da 5’9. NOT Nas.

Hit-Boy at present, is the producer for Nas. Ya’ll think Nas just sits around and listens to beat CD’s from Premier, Alchemist, and Madlib, hears some world shattering shyt that puts fire in his belly and inspiration in his soul and says to himself “Nah dun. Run me some other shyt”. Of COURSE not.

Them dudes ain’t the producers for Nas. Its simple as that. Nas wouldn’t make anything with them that would be at all better than KD1, KD2, or Magic because they haven’t INSPIRED him too.

Nas really isn’t an underground emcee he just got put in that category his 1st album, fought against it for the next 3 albums, then finally gave in and started catering to that group of fans when the Jay shyt started because that was the community that rode for him.

He a project nikka though, he really don’t fukk with y’all dorks like that.

He just wants the money and bytches and the underground community throws their money at him.
