The funny thing is if Nas did an entire premo album it would be the most scrutinized album in Hip Hop history

“Why didn’t he put AZ on 6 of the 10 songs!??!”

“Why didn’t they resurrect Guru for a feature?!?!”

“Why didn’t they get Q-Tip and Large Professor to fart at the end of track 3?!?!”

“Why didn’t they sample Ozone’s speech from Breakin’?!?”

“Why doesn’t this sound like the 90’s?!?!”

“Why doesn’t this sound like modern day?!?”

“Why didn’t Nas just work with Hit-Boy again?!?!”

I can hear all of that bullshyt now.

I just had a discussion with my homie just now & he asked me when do you think Nas (in my opinion) had the best album of the year last? :jbhmm:

It actually had me thinking...:ohhh:

Much as I'm a Nas fan & he's GOAT status, i actually had to go back to Lost Tapes :mindblown:

But he's probably got both 1 & 2 this year though :ahh:
Had it in 2012. I like it better than the Kendrick album.

There's an actual YouTube video titled is Nas ruining his legacy with these Hitboy albums?:mjlol: one of the reviewers said he hates Gangstarr yeah cut that bullshyt off immediately. If anything these albums further separating him from everyone else:wow:

I think it’s putting them on to young rap fans who started listening to rap in the blog era. Who experienced their first Nas release in 2018 with Nasir. These hit boy releases really spreading Nas over multiple generations

Wave Gods needs a video, I think it could potentially be the biggest song out of Nas three releases, has the Asap Rocky feature who goes crazy in, while sticking to the old school formula which everyone wants from Nas, throw in a few DJ Promo scratches and it’s a go, would outperform every video he’s released in the last 7 years on views alone.
what i have come to be content with is that Nas never does the simingly popular view. Since LIG or even prio he never did videos for tracks people deemed as popular or would get more attention to his albums. It seems that is never his focus or drive.
On LIG you would think You Wouldn't Understand or Accident Murderer with an inform n popular Rick Ross were more logical choices than nas Bye Babe
KD1 most pple thought he should go for Car85 or Full Circle ft The Firm but he made vid for Replace Me
KD2 most wished to get vids for Death Row East/ EPMD or Nobody, he came with Brunch on Sundays.

The LIG videos made perfect sense.

Nasty was the street single in the same vein as Made You Look, released almost a year prior to the album’s completion was a dope video.

Daughters was the official single, a single that ended up earning Nas a Grammy nom. Of course it would get a video.

The Don was the single for New York and its video was an ode to the city.

Bye Baby was speaking to core theme of the album. Nas had said numerous times before that the album was meant to be his “Here, My Dear”. So it made sense to make a video about the dissolution of his marriage.

Cherry Wine also earned Nas a Grammy nomination and is considered amongst Nas’s best “love” songs. After two street edged singles, an ode to his daughter, and a song about divorce and heartbreak, it made sense for Nas to show a little love to the ladies.
