That’s what they wanted. They wanted Nas to be that prodigy from the hood who had a good album and that’s it. Maybe you bring him out at your 500 person venue show to hype the crowd for your DJ set. Maybe you do an “Illmatic 2” album in 2000 and sell 10k copies first week. Basically…they wanted him to be OC man. No offense or OC he’s had a dope career but that’s clearly not what Nas wanted.

Nobody listens to a Hov album and complains that Premo isn’t on there. I’m just saying. Nobody elevated the voice of rap nerds who were saying Kanye’s drums were wack and Blueprint should have been produced by Premo or something.
you're one of the best posters on here...consistent 2

the problem also in the lense that people look at nas' career is that they literarlly dont know his music outside of illmatic IWW and stillmatic....the JBP made me realize that..even hip hop heads....joe mal and ish and ice dont know nas music like that at all. and honestly as most reviewrs are they are on more knowledgable side....and so its bs takes

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
“I’m on offense every day until I see the love/KD3 on the way, this just to feed the buzz.”

Easily the biggest flex is saying that this is just to feed the buzz. THIS might be the best of the Nas/Hit-Boy collabs and it might even be in my top 5 Nas projects…and it’s “JUST TO FEED THE BUZZ.” :mindblown: I can’t believe it but somehow he’s in another prime. :ohlawd:

I just had a discussion with my homie just now & he asked me when do you think Nas (in my opinion) had the best album of the year last? :jbhmm:

It actually had me thinking...:ohhh:

Much as I'm a Nas fan & he's GOAT status, i actually had to go back to Lost Tapes :mindblown:

But he's probably got both 1 & 2 this year though :ahh:

How could a song called "Ugly" sound so beautiful? :wow: I feel like if this album didn't get the mixtape treatment, this song would be the only single and have a video.

Life is Good was one of the best projects of 2012. You could definitely make a convincing argument for that album.

Ive had a few days to let this project marinate. The beats are good (more on that later), but damn Nas is sharp as ever. Has a rapper ever caught a second prime at damn near 50? This man spitting like shyt.

As far as the beats, yea they are good, but not 4 albums in a row ready. Hit Boy's beats seem to lack something, i dont know what it is. I want to see Nas mix it up with some other producers while he's on this run. The Hit Boy beats sounding a bit redundant at this point. Just my opinion

Yeah was No. 2 for me behind Reloaded.

But definitely can make an argument for it.

As a Nas fan the fact we've had 3 SOLID projects over the course of 1 and a half years is just :wow: i remember the LIG to Nasir wait, and the fact Nasir was underwhelming imo didn't help.

This KD to Magic run :mjcry: with KD III on the way :ooh: fck all that he should do this and that, just listen and appreciate the music. Brehs debut was in 94 and he still spitting at an elite level :whew:
