Lol @ y'all sayin Hit Boy ain't versatile...I coulda swore a track like Wave Gods was actually a Primo beat or a Pete Rock beat but it was actually a Hit-Boy beat, Preem just did the scratches. (my fav track on the album btw, love that nostalgic feel)

Hit gave Nas many different sounds. Commercial sound (Brunch on Sundays, Composure, YKTV), he got those soul type beats (Moments, Nas is Good, Wave Gods, Wu for the Children) and he can do grimy/ boom bap too.... (Speechless, Meet Joe Black, 40-16)

So wtf y'all talkin bout Hit-Boy ain't versatile lol?

Some of y'all still want that Nas/ Primo or Nas/ Pete rock album.....this ain't 2001 my brehs. That ship sailed.
Some of Nas so called fans are very disrespectful and unappreciative of the true artist he is. It’s really sad and disheartening to witness. Thank goodness Nas gift is far reach and there are fans who truly love his music and enjoy his evolution as an artist. These are the fans that inspire him to continue to create. Hitboy and Nas developed a true brotherhood and enjoy creating art together. It’s really comical that people are trying to find fault in that.

You could tell from the Instagram and Twitter vids that Nas and Hit actually developed a friendship/ brotherhood. Nas looks mad comfortable around him (no homo). You can't say that when he around Primo or Pete or Alchemist......to Nas they are just another producer he's buying a beat from. With Hit it looks like these dudes actually hangout out in Cali and chill on their personal time.

Thats the chemistry that makes great albums.

I guess you come from an alternate reality? In this timeline, Nas is universally accepted as one of the greatest to ever to do it.

:snoop: you can't fight nostalgia:yeshrug:

do this for me. take just these two items from Nasirs career:ohhh: 1.) illmatic 2.) beef w/ Jay z.:ohhh:, which in reality was just Jay making Nas relevant :russ:

:umad: Now if he's one of these all time:comeon: greatest goats w/ tenure w/ legacy he should still be relevant no:patrice:

what else has he done outside of these two items:patrice:

where is his impact:jbhmm:

where are his quotables :dwillhuh:

trends:gucci:

growth as a real creative/ a real artist:comeon:

a suitable VS for Nas would be Common that's more his wheelhouse and common would smoke nas:picard:

Hit Boy is cool but I just struggle to see how he is worth 3 or 4 full length projects with an artist of the calibre of Nas

1) He's dedicated to curating a sound specifically for Nas.

2) He's obviously made himself available to Nas

3) Nas trusts him. And this is the most important point.

Why shouldn't HitBoy be worthy? Sure, there may be other producers we might like to see Nas connect with, but at this point, why sweat it. It was obvious from the first King's Disease that there was chemistry and that Nas and HitBoy was a dope rapper/producer combo. By King's Disease 2, it was no question. HitBoy and Nas are the best thing that could've happened to either of them. HitBoy provides Nas with production in which Nas can go anywhere without compromise. Nas elevates HitBoy to where there may be a discussion as to where HitBoy ranks all time. Now, HitBoy was always dope, but when he's now helped an MC of Nas's caliber create THREE good to great albums in a row (KD2 and Magic are upper echelon Nas albums), those conversations are going to be had.

Hit Boy is cool but I just struggle to see how he is worth 3 or 4 full length projects with an artist of the calibre of Nas. I just cant help thinking a producer with crazy sound variation like Madlib would do a better job with that volume of work. I like variation anyway so I would personally get more excited with Nas doing full length projects with a single producer but a different producer on each project. It just feels to me that Nas and Hit Boy hooked up on KD1, developed a good working relationship and are repeating that formula for another 2 or 3 more projects. To me that's kinda safe it's much more of a risk to get in the studio with someone else.

But as Nas has shown in the past he doesn't necessarily work with the people you want or expect, he works with who he feels comfortable with. I'm cool with this too because i'm all for artists having complete artistic freedom whether that be long time vet like Nas, or a new person coming through.

Hit-boy has more sound variation than Madlib, he’s the same guy who produced nikkas in Paris, The Clique, Xo by Beyoncé while also the same man who produced racks in the middle for Nipsey.

Wave Gods needs a video, I think it could potentially be the biggest song out of Nas three releases, has the Asap Rocky feature who goes crazy in, while sticking to the old school formula which everyone wants from Nas, throw in a few DJ Promo scratches and it’s a go, would outperform every video he’s released in the last 7 years on views alone.
