The great thing about this run with Hit Boy is its just exposing how much lack of crediblity the audience, be it critics or fans have to still say they want Nas to go back to producers wth an old sound.
Like Hit Boy has given him that with joints like Nobody, Store Run, Composure, Meet Joe Black, 40-16. Think about what Pete Rock sent him that he eventually put on Lost Tapes 2 (which I liked what he gave him but it was a loop sample of uptown anthem and a piano beat that appearently he made in 1990, lets be real thats lazy as fukk)

I love PSA Hip Hop but when 3 said he would. have like Store Run if he knew it was produced by someone else, its just sounds goofy

When you're wrong, you're wrong:mjlol:

He got with the guy who did nikkas in Paris, shouldnt have worked (It didnt 10 years ago, yall hear Black Girl Lost 2 ) and gave him a renaissance era

And maybe if he had locked in with any other guy over 2 years being out in LA it would have been the same but it didnt, know why? Cause Hit Boy can make diverse joints, radio, modern and classic so of course Nas went to him. Yah you can say hes a jack of all trades master of none cause he replicates but as the listener this is sonically what you expected from the other guys

I feel you, but... I've only seen universal praise for this album from social media, YouTube, message boards, or just people I know personally. The same for KD2 for the most part. What you're saying here is legit but I'd say it applied more to a vocal minority after KD1.

The stuff you're saying dude said about Store Run just sounds kinda feminine tbh. I couldn't even take someone's opinion seriously if they said some shyt like that.

Nas been in the game is so long that its tempting to try to compare this to something he's already done. But Magic is pretty unique in his catalog. I've seen people compare it to Stillmatic, Illmatic, LT1, etc but the only thing they have in common is being dope albums.

People did the same for LIG when not only was it something different from Nas, but something I don't think we'd seen in rap before in general.

What the entire fukk are u talking about?

:yeshrug: just like some actors get type casted in some roles "stuck" only to be seen in that type of performance/that character/ that role ie. Super heroes :comeon: or better example for Nas would be Urkel :mjlol:

:yeshrug: Illmatic was ghost written for him critically acclaimed :ehh:

He feels compelled obligated to live up to a role that clearly :mjlol: is not this dude...

After bout 3rd 4th album it was evident ...

Is flow is monotonous :scust:

Lupe needs to listen to I Am and Street's Disciple to hear that Nas had the double time flow for over 20 years now....
Tell the nikka to throw on Message to the Feds to see where that flow on Meet Joe Black came from. Hence why he says “gimme that flow back!”.

Yeh defo feel it’s unique album in his catalogue. I do get slight N*****R tape vibes. More for some of the production more than anything else as songs like The Truth, Meet Joe Black and 40-16 remind me of mid 2000s production

nikkas comparing this album to every era of his career :dead:

This album is a first of its kind in a lot of ways. An instant classic in my opinion. The music is simply undeniable.

I dont know why pple i so hung up on those 90's producers man...:mjtf:
Premo is number 1 to me but i dont have any issue with Hitboy at all. even said in the KD2 thread that Hitboy has given Nas every type of beat.
There is nothing that other producers can give Nas that Hitboy hasnt on he last 3 albums. There i said it !!!!

After KD3 Hitboy will have the largest chunk off of Nas's cartalogue:whew:
Haters n stuck in the 90's ngz...Better pray we dont get Magic II after that:ahh:
