Guess Magic doesn't have enough conceptual songs about Amy Winehouse's ghost

Idk bro, I don't listen to none of them nigs personally outside of some Lupe, lol. I do know Nas specifically said Cole was the new him on the album
So either you have to use the same flow every time or invent a new flow thats never been used in rap, otherwise you're biting? Do y'all even know how crazy that sounds![]()
Never really felt like I NEEDED Nas to do another Illmatic or whatever, what he did with Stillmatic was enough for my happiness. But I must say I've been living in complete nostalgia of The Lost Tapes for the past 20 years.
(Was VERY disappointed by LT2 btw, very far from LT1 level..)
And I believe Magic is the closest i'll ever get to that LT1 feeling. It's just pure dopeness from the first to the last second. It cannot match LT1, and nothing ever will IMO. I think LT1 had a melancholic feel that makes it more classic/relatable for long term.
Maybe that's just me, but artistically, sad Nas >>> happy/comfy Nas.
But judging just the music without attached memories of the moment etc, quality wise, this Nas on Magic is the best he's been on the mic since Lost Tapes Era. And I would've never thought this could happen AFTER both KDs. I was happy Nas was doing great music again, but I was feeling he was getting less technical than before, especially on KD1.
I'm just so thankful I could witness this greatness at least once more in his career.
fukking amped for KD3, and at the same time I feel like Nas saying Magic was just a warm up kinda fukked up how people judge this album. Too many will downplay it, even maybe unconsciously, as a mixtape/EP.
But warm-up or not, this I the best Hip-hop release of the year and the man has easy 2 albums in the top 5 of 2021. shyt's just phenomenal.
I tried
I honestly tried....
couple things actually few...
you can lift Nasirs vocals off any track I mean dam near any track aside from perhaps a couple
and place/replace them over any of his songs
it's just one set monotone
dodoesn'matter if he's talking about his daughter or his in an epic battle
They laid either but I say he didn't have a choicebut to go that route
He has no voice inflection
No feelingtherefore you don't feel his music
Aside from that the excuse he always skated on was bad/ poor beat selectionnow that that excuse is gone
I think it really shows him up to be just an average rapper..
He don't got to be trash or garbage
But he's just not this universally excepted top 5 goat
And the beats were sub par to be perfectly honest yes better much better that his previous selections but nothing memorable
A lot of his music / projects just seem forced
It seems he's been forced in to this quote un quote knowledgeable rapper role that's just not him
We all may have moments of inspirationenlightenment
that don't make you a genius a savant ...
Nor is he up to the task of hit after hit putting out classics
Luke warm tapioca
raps over backwashed beats
