:what: like do u nikkas listen to anything other than rap like what’s so great about that bullshyt Ye was doing on Donda? That shyt sounded scatterbrained as fukk. Wasn’t nothing masterful about Donda.

Do you? I bet you don't. What you want to talk about, you want to talk some music? Let's talk some Nat King Cole, some Bunny Wailer, Boss Nova Jazz, the genius of Louis Armstrong, the musical dexterity of Amadeus

You want to talk some music, what you want to talk about Animal Sounds, Hear My Dear, Blackhearted Man, Son House, Lady Day

What the fukk you want to talk about Blues, Jazz, Classical, Soul, Funk, Roots Reggae, Afro Beats, Folk, Negro Spirituals

What the fukk you want talk about, let's talk about music so I can school your ass on some music

Am I lying or not, that Benny The Butcher album was a Roc The World Production/Roc La Familia

I just want to see Hitboy come with his own signature

Alchemist did it after years sounding like Muggs and DJ Premier

Yeah. Daytona is his best batch in a long, long time.

He didn’t produce all that much on Watch the Throne either.

I doubt Kanye would ever sabotage Nas. He’s a Nas stan and has said multiple times that Nas is his favorite rapper.

It was simply lack of planning and narcissism. If you listen to Kanye speaking about the album, he truly acts like he gave Nas a classic. Like he BELIEVES that shyt whole heartedly.

I actually like Nasir for what it is, I listen to it regularly, but there’s no doubt that it SHOULD have been better. Kanye was on that bullshyt and the only album that didn’t suffer from it during that era was the one that he actually spent TIME crafting, which was Daytona.

Hell I think if you gave Kanye and Nas a MONTH in the studio together, you’d get a stone cold classic. Instead Kanye wanted to play MAGA Superman and fumbled.
I feel like it was sabotage because they had Nas rap over entirely different beats, then changed the beats without his knowledge, then tinkered with the mix until the very last moment so it went to DSPs late. People were saying Nas was off beat but he wasn’t rapping to those beats. It’s not on him. I just feel like the entire thing was very weird.

Especially given how smoothly the Pusha release went….it left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Wave Gods sounds like a beat Nore would've killed in '98

also hoping for a Wu for the Children remix with Ghost and Rae, feel like they would both kill that beat

this album is so fukking amazing though, so good it's overwhelming almost, Nas is hurting my brain trying to catch everything he's saying haha

doing 5 albums in a month or whatever it was, too much and ye exhausted himself after the Pusha one

but still ye fukked up, he should've respected Nas more and put aside more time and attention

but I still really like Nasir haha

The Pusha release went smoothly because Ye and Push had literally been working on that album for YEARS beforehand, and even then there were last minute changes, like the album cover for instance.

Besides Daytona, every one of those albums had major hiccups right before release, because Kanye and Mike Dean were rushing. I don’t even blame Mike Dean, because when everybody was waiting on Nasir and hitting him up on twitter the day of release he hadn’t even gotten the files from Kanye.

Teyana Taylor also complained and said the same thing about KTSE. Kanye switching up production last minute and she did6n’t even know what was what until she actually heard the album.

Kanye was playing mad scientist and fell on his face

Man I love this shyt.

I still cant really digest that my GOAT dropped this shyt out of nowhere.

I'm a person who likes to "live" with an album for a long time period before I make a final judgement. But this shyt is flames.

I love KD 1, KD2, and this....all for different reasons. That's the beauty of this run, they all sound/feel different. This feels like 96-97 Nas.

They cant miss....and Hit Boy needs his fukking flowers for this incredible shyt.

it’s crazy. To think if they stick to same schedule we get KD III in 8 months

I would love to know why they dropped this album. Not that I’m beefin. Did they find themselves making some 90s type joints and decided to put this together quick? Is there some joints already made they’re holding out for KD III

Ah, I didn't know the Pusha album had been worked on longer. But yea, Kanye dropped the ball. The rushing makes sense in hindsight when you consider he was allegedly doing it to flood Drake's release window. At least, that's what Drake has said in interviews. Just a wack situation and we got robbed of something that could have been special.
