I doubt Kanye would ever sabotage Nas. He’s a Nas stan and has said multiple times that Nas is his favorite rapper.

It was simply lack of planning and narcissism. If you listen to Kanye speaking about the album, he truly acts like he gave Nas a classic. Like he BELIEVES that shyt whole heartedly.

I actually like Nasir for what it is, I listen to it regularly, but there’s no doubt that it SHOULD have been better. Kanye was on that bullshyt and the only album that didn’t suffer from it during that era was the one that he actually spent TIME crafting, which was Daytona.

Hell I think if you gave Kanye and Nas a MONTH in the studio together, you’d get a stone cold classic. Instead Kanye wanted to play MAGA Superman and fumbled.

The problem w/Kanye is that he's always been arrogant. He came into the game arrogant. So he thought he could just put some shyt together and thought it would fly.

Personally, I can't fukk w/nobody that says, "slavery was a choice" I'm glad that Van Lathan checked his ass about that bullshyt. After that statement, I was done checking for anything involving Kanye. Dude really needs to do something about his mental issues.

I feel like it was sabotage because they had Nas rap over entirely different beats, then changed the beats without his knowledge, then tinkered with the mix until the very last moment so it went to DSPs late. People were saying Nas was off beat but he wasn’t rapping to those beats. It’s not on him. I just feel like the entire thing was very weird.

Especially given how smoothly the Pusha release went….it left a really bad taste in my mouth.

It's worse because this was Nas' first album in six years, and the beginning of his third era. Now, he was moving away from Def Jam and heading to Mass Appeal full-time. And Kanye promised Obama that he was going to produce a Nas album one day. He made it seem like it was his lifelong dream. And he treated it like a homework assignment that was due the next day, just writing shyt on the paper so he had something to turn in.

Also, Nas isn't known for turning around albums that fast. Last time that happened, it set back his career for a while (Nastradamus). And that was the same time Kelis brought up those abuse allegations against him. So critics were shytting on him for not addressing them on the album. There was a whole listening party right near Queensbridge for an album that wasn't even ready yet. :francis:

It's just fukked up looking back because Nas took all the heat for the album turning out the way it did. And it's a testament to his talent that he was still able to pull off tracks like "Everything" and "Adam & Eve" with the limited time he was given.

I'm a be honest, I would prefer if Kanye doesn't work on a Nas joint again b/c of that NASIR joint that he just threw together like it was some last min shyt. Every since that joint Nas been on his shyt.

Black Rock N Roll? nikka there's no such thing of Black Rock N Roll we created Rock N Roll, nikka Blues, actually Rhythm & Blues is the father and Blues is The Grandfather of Rock N Roll. You don't even know what you speak about, psychedelic soul we can do that also

Go on with your day homeboy I will save you embarrassment you will about to receive.

And being a DJ don't mean shyt because if you was a DJ your digging needs to learn the history
I make a DISTINCTION with Black Rock n Roll because white folks tried to TAKE it from us. Which is my point. How the fukk does my digging need to learn history? Son u giving me useless information that I know already that I didn’t ask for aint teaching me shyt.
