Some old ass nikkas said Nas needs to get back to really rapping again. I’m like :what:? Are these nikkas retarded? Lol
It’s the experimental tracks that prolly got people saying that.

On tracks like Motion, What This All Really Means, Slow It Down… there’s literally no discernible difference between Nas now & Nas 20+ years ago… even his breath control

I thought his breath control was cooked cuz of old age… it might not be quite what it is was when he was 27, but it’s still in great shape vocally.

I accused Nas of being on cruise control on KD 1 & KD2 (outside a few tracks), which I was ultimately proven to be right about… but ever since the first Magic he’s slowly rounding himself back into form

I’m still shocked how great he sounded on KD3 to be honest with you

I wonder if the combo of consistently touring AND being in and out the studio has helped with the breath control. He took it up a notch on M1 and sounds even better on KD3 and M2.

This is not true at all. For every Abracadabra or Thun, there is Pistols and Once a Man, Beef and Twice a Child.
Definitely not true!
The difference is Nas dedicated full albums to different subject matter and has constantly push the boundary on talking about social issues. Jay hardly went that route. This is hardly comparable to what Jay z does when he does it.
And I said This Time Frame!

Anyone talking about how fresh the flows are? Honestly, I never have a problem reciting most rappers lines but Nas I can’t keep up or keep his rhythm. He’s on some other shyt.

This the most surprising Nas album in a long time. The production and flows both

I didn't love KD3 as much as most because it was the first album with Hit that ain't bring something new to the table far as what they done together. Don't get get me wrong, very good album but no surprises. This one, Abracadabra was out there. Nobody was expecting Nas to rock over a sample from an underground 90s Memphis track. Motion is a crazy instrumental that sound nothing like they done together before. Bokeem sound fresh. Good mix between those and some more traditional Nas style beats like Office Hours and Slow It Down.

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
Nas - Office Hours (feat. 50 Cent) [50's Adlibs pushed to the ending; Fixed by Alamo]

there are complaints that 50's verse sounds more like a voice mail because he stops rapping and his outro takes too much of his verse slot before the chorus comes back in...hitboy's team kinda dropped the ball and didn't realize to split the submitted 50 vocals in half, one for the rapping segment, and another for the outro

so, have the Nas chorus arrive immediately after 50 ends his verse, borrowing the pristine vocals from the first chorus without the overlay, and then move the 50 adlibs to the back intertwined with the Nas adlibs so that it sounds like Nas and 50 are having a conversation after the chorus even though they are talking about completely different things...Nas in his outro kinda bridged it by jokingly saying that he was going to drop his next album on g-unit but then talk excessively about Fredos, which can be cut shorter...50 cent had a better outro talking about being too rich, shouting out queens and jungle, and being out there and that should be how the song ends

could very well be. I suppose it’s cuz he not in the studio sparingly anymore

In any event, I’m not worried bout dude falling off anymore. After KD2 I was worried the age was slowly creeping up on him… nawl, homie still sounds incredible.

I remember listening to “First Time” on KD3 and thinking this is some old shyt from 2001 and he just re-recorded :mindblown:

The intricacies of the multi syllable rhyme schemes, internal rhymes, flow… yeah he still got it

Anyone questioning Nas's pen is just a flat out hater. He went apeshyt on this album. Listen to the lyrics and flow. I like this album.

Stic Man outlined it
Jay Elec wrote it
Quentin Miller approved it
Jungle referenced it
Nas Laced it

Perfect Teamwork

bruh I don't know what these dudes listening to. This sounds so good in the car. like Nas said "stuck in the 90s nikkas"
Not even going to lie. When I heard it at midnight I had to play it low cause the fam was sleeping, but the next day in the car full blast was :ahh::whew:
Pistols On Your Album Cover is my favorite right now, he had to be still recording the beginning of the month cause of the Mutulu Shakur references. Wonder he was recording while on tour, or maybe he was just writing and got in the studio and was ready.

Anyone breakdown Bokeem Woodbine (I know I'm missing some bars and the connection to him.) I get the Jason Lyrics ones, but any other movies?

I have to assume it’s like physical fitness. If you stop lifting or doing cardio, it’s going to take you a while to work back to where you were at your peak.

Definitely all of the above and his confidence is currently at a high as well. This has to be motivating. I think hit boys ability to give Nas various sounds keeps him on his toes to try different things.

Producers from that Era need to find their way into this new Era of music without Nas. Why don’t we ever question why a majority of none of these new rap artist go to them for beats? These dudes are bitter. By the way joint the streaming party on Radiohead
