How do you guys think Magic 2 would have been received if it dropped in August 2020 and KD1 dropped today?

So from what I'm hearing, Nas need to become a righteous Roc Marci and he only needs to rhyme over the following producer's beats:

Nicolas Craven
Daringer
ALC
Premo
Pete Rock
Mark the 45 King
Hank Shocklee
BDP
Cassidy

I'll enjoy what I have. Y'all can have all that other stuff.

If he did an album with Alchemist you'd see a lot of em complaining about too many drumless beats and Alchemist not being in 2000-2002 mode

We seen it too many times. LT2 had two tracks a piece with RZA and Pete Rock, how many of them was bigging up those songs and supporting the project? Same with the Premier track last year

Basically how I feel. NASIR was awful, some of the worst mixing I’ve ever heard and the beats simply weren’t good. Kanye should be ashamed of himself for that nonsense. Magic 2 is probably a 7/7.5/10 to me, and it really just highlights how enjoyable the King’s Disease series has been.
agreed I'm a Nas stan but objective. He drops some shyt that's subpar I'll admit :manny: . The biggest thing about Magic 2 especially compared to previous 3 projects there aren't any true standouts. Just a bunch of solid tracks. KD2 had DRE Store Run Rare ect. Magic Speechless, 40-16, The Truth ect. KD3 Thun, Michael & Quincy, Recession Proof ect.. There's some dope shyt on here tho

it’s the #1 Nas stan go to …when all else fails …blame the producer :mjlol:

Hit-Boys production hasn’t even sounded the same on these projects …they could have put an alias for this nikka on each album and people wouldn’t have been able to know the difference ..he’s been extremely diverse from beat to beat. “10 points” sounds nothing like “Store Run” which sounds nothing like “Joe Black” which sounds nothing like “Thun” which sounds nothing “Black Magic” …but to protect their savior they throw his producers under the bus and claim the beats are always “stale” lol …Hit has definitely had a few misses over the course of 5 albums and i’ve said that myself but overall he’s done his job ..it’s just goofy stan shyt with many of Nasir’s followers.
what? since when?:gucci:

Nas fans like and appreciate Nas albums period.

Nas haters are the ones who keep saying "Nas is the worst beat selector ever". not the fans.
