at the end of the day this could possibly be my second favorite Nas album. We'll see. Time will tell.

In case y'all wonderin - this dope piano sample at the end of queens story comes from a tune of a Polish composer Frederick Chopin who lived in nineteenth century. It's called Revolutionary Étude and he wrote it when he got the message of a failed uprising in Poland against the Russians. Just representin.
First post after 10 years of lurking on the other site.
Nas prolly got camel saliva dripping from his balls off this one![]()
I'll give this a 3 out 5. Only because I was being sympathetic towards Nas fans.
Other than that my true rating would be 2.5 out 5.
Channel Orange though
this album is nas trying to come across as a great musical mogul and gain respect beyond the perceived shallow realm of hip-hop royalty. same thing common tried to do with dreamer/believer.
both attempts failed and both come across as stale, bland banquet tv dinners. i dont use the word "hot" to express music but this album is just not hot. its fukkin boring unless you wanna hear nas write and rap like the 40 year old he is over beats made by 40 year olds. tell me what song on this cd actually gets your blood pumpin and wanna hit the gas pedal and go make money and have fun. i cant find more than a couple.
this is what happens when rappers from the 90s try to come out with an "epic album".
im saying what everyone else is feeling but is too aprehensive to carve out in stone. only thing keepin this in anybodys tape deck is the fact that its a nas album in 2012 and the nostalgia that goes along with it. once that wears off, this will go down as nothing special.
neg me.
y'all probably disagree but i think this his 2nd best album after obviously Illmatic. its strong top to bottom. I am not forcing myself to like songs. I'm replaying ish automatically cause i like the songs, not to force myself to give dude the benefit of the doubt just cause its Nas.
^^^^engineering vocals is so important. Ever notice how much iller Ghost sounds when Rza records his shyt? Because he knows how to mix his vocals and coach a great performance out of him.
i want someone to wrangle Prodigy's ass in the stu and get that youthful murder music out of him instead of scary, low voiced threat P.
