"Overproduction" is a problem (see some of those GOOD Music releases) where the production is so good that the emcee gets left in the background somewhere behind the sound. Nas is one of the GOAT emcees, he doesn't get over-shined by any sweeping chords.
As someone who listens to a range of hip-hop stuff that's already fused in that manner (Nujabes for example) Nas fits the production fine.
