I believe Nas and Hit will wrap up their work with one more project. Most likely not titled KD. I know they have some stuff left in the vault. They'd be better off reworking it and adding more joints than releasing it in a Lost Tapes package. If it's something the fans like, the community will forever say, "Nas and Hit should have come out again with an album instead of Lost Tapes." Also, if Nas and Hit released a few tracks on a Lost Tapes project and then Nas came out with an album that without hit Man production that wasn't o par with the last 4 projects, the community would be talking crap about that as well. I know Nas doesn't worry about what fans say, but without Hit, Nas is back to the drawing board looking to both continue the momentum and find a new pocket. These are just my thoughts.

They should do one more, call it Victory Lap, give it a little bigger scope and more features

Don't get me wrong, Nas never needed features and Magic plus KD3 have reemphasized that but it'd be dope to hear a project that's like a celebration of Nas career and get a bunch of artists he's been associated with plus some of the newer generation on there

Hope that Hit sticks around as EP on future projects though, just as a sounding board. He got the perfect understanding of what works for Nas and every artist need that voice in their corner

Lots of potential ideas with Hitboy. I bet a lot of OG rappers are hitting up Hitboy for the same treatment. Maybe Nas and Hit could do a giant collab like QB Presents. Or if Nas does the Premo album executive produced by Hitboy. Another Firm album is another possibility.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
"Heaven" is in my Top 5-10 Nas songs. I can't see it changing because of what it means to me. Then there's "Get Down", which again is another favorite Nas song and then seeing how that whole Brian Nichols thing played out in real life just added a whole other layer to that song. "Book of Rhymes", "Last Real nikka Alive", "Warrior's Song" and of course "Made You Look", which is one of Nas's biggest and best singles. The 20th anniversary is God's Son is coming up, so I won't spend too much time on it.

Lost Tapes is unmovable too. It's Top 3-5 to me. I could put it comfortably behind Illmatic.

I think I might've put KD2 above God's Son last year, but I've been re-thinking that as it has become increasingly difficult to see how his new albums stack against his best material.
If you have an album that is 3-5 isn’t it by definition “movable”? Is illmatic your number 1?

Could his new albums also be his best material? Why is it hard to compare old and new stuff?

What I mean by unmovable is that I don't see it moving from the Top 3-5 spot.

It's hard to compare the new to the old because I've sat years with the old music and these new ones are still relatively fresh. I try to stay away from comparing them because I want to enjoy each one in the moment. That's why it's hard to compare.

One of the best aspects of Nas catalog is he's never tried to recreate the sound or vibe of previous albums. Every project brings something unique to the table. Even the KD-Magic series none of them are overly similar. Probably the only one that brought nothing fresh far as sound or perspective was Nasir and that was basically a rush job EP done to fulfill a contract

But comparing 19-20 year old still living in the projects (Illmatic) to gangster film on wax (IWW) to pissed off world's against me (Stillmatic) to Moms just passed (God's Son) to rich 40 year old going through a divorce (LIG) to elder statesman looking back and toasting his current prosperity (KD series) just not necessary, they all bring value

This is left field but i like how Green Lantern interpolates sounds, beats and clips from classic songs into other songs. He also a great ear for sound. I would like Green Lantern to do his remix treatment on KD3. He can do whatever mashups, interpolations and i think it would work really well.

KD3 is sitting at 88 now on Metacritic after Cacfork’s review. Its still the highest acclaimed rap album of the year.

Rap Reviews will probably publish they’re write up tomorrow. They gave KD2 an 8.5 and Magic a 9. If they give KD3 anything higher than an 8 then he’ll more than likely top out at 90, which would make it his most acclaimed album of his discography

Its funny I once said if I ever make a record, I'll take a check and put something away for a rainy day to make an exit

But look at me now, ten 30 years deep since the project bench with cracks in my sock sleep

I never asked to be top of rap's elite Just a ghetto child trying learn the craft of the streets

But look at me now

:wow:
