just googled Nas Rare and the link at top is to the Youtube video and says it's 5 mins 4 secs long. That's a long song for 2021 so I imagine the video got some parts that aren't the actual song

Nas releases like those very special episodes. I’ve been anticipating releases for 20+ years now. Some worth it. Some a let down. But there’s always something in there.

I remember the LIG build up on here. Remember those barking dogs. Those djs all over black republicans. Remember copping I Am… on cassette on Fulton St. It’s wild how long he’s been famous and blessing us with music. All great musicians have their missteps… miles, prince, stevie but that’s bc they were pushing it and that’s what made them great.

I think this year might be extra special for us. Nas kills the sort of drums on that snippet. And it’s nice to not have a release rumored, delayed, scrapped for years. Been let down before but there’s always something worth it.

On God I have dj versions of shyt like "we major" in my old files, but all I want is the Gomez brothers version of black republicans . Someone MUST have it

People like to categorize others with the title “GROUPIE” when their posts read like the actual definition of the word. People try to pass their idea or expectation of an album onto others. People use words like “safe” or “surface” as if these words are edgy. When in reality an artist produces works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Has it ever cross the mind of those who feel Nas made a “safe” album with KD that Nas is in a safe place & his iuppermost layer of emotion (surface) was feeling light, free and happy so therefor his creation reflected that. Everything doesn’t have to be “deep” sometimes people want to cruise and just relax.

I never seen another artist be analyzed as harshly as Nas. It’s as if KD made some upset bc it truly is an album that was created for everyone to enjoy. Isn’t that the meaning of “replay value.” Besides it’s an album not a damn video game. Relax and let the music soothe you.

People get mad when Nas don't make music the way they want. Its been that way since it was written.

Ok here’s my “listening plan” for tonight.


Midnight i’m going to listen to the first four tracks via Apple Music in order. THEN i’m going to watch the video for “Rare” which will count as the fifth song then i’ll go back to listening to songs 6-15.


After that i’m going to watch the Rare video again. Head to Nas’s online store to cop merch and physicals before doing a second re-listen on Tidal.


That way Nas gets Streams from me via both Apple and Tidal. Plus a physical sale from his store and an itunes purchase.


So thats the equivalent of four purchases on release night.
