What y’all think of Ye album in comparison to this?

Honestly Kanye’s is a little disappointing.


Its an “Ok” album whereas I feel like there’s a great album SCREAMING to come out of it.

Its an over ambitious, uneven listen, with weird sequencing (which is bizarre because Kanye used to be a MASTER of sequencing his albums)


The good is that, as an actual rapper, this is Kanye’s best performance in YEARS. The guest features are mostly dope, and sonically the gospel elements are much improved over the trash was Jesus Is King.


If he would have whittled it down to the best 14 songs, he would have had a true album of the year contender.


The last five songs, four of them unnecessary “part 2’s” of songs already placed on the album, really bring it down. They make it seem like its a playlist rather than a cohesive body of work.




Nas and Hit Boy went in FOCUSED and made a classic. Kanye went in with a mish mash of ideas, with a mish mash of collaborators, and made a beautiful mess.


Nas still has AOTY. I don’t think Kanye’s album is even better than J.Cole’s The Offseason (which also had a certain FOCUS to it)

Rhymes and production are superior on KD2.

If Kanye cut down the album to 11-13 tracks then it would've been a solid 4 mic album.

Donda takes are on point here. Some good songs but way too long and weighed down by filler.

Nas still got AOTY y'all. Not worried about Drake at all, that will be the usual mid-Drake shyt. K. Dot the only one I'm worried about but if he drops another Damn then Esco got this.

Donda is too bloated for me. If he cut some of the fat it would be a really good album. Production wise I feel the same way.
