Fast forward to when I started to play ball
From a place where we hate law
See the Jakes and we take off (whoop whoop)
Hit the gate I get home and take my chain off
Thankful I got through the day and all the evil I prayed off

Nas storytellin is topdraw the imagery draws u in

Those are some beautiful bars, man...

:wow:

He influenced Nas’ critical rating with a troll review. That’s why people are mad. Cause it wasn’t even a fair review. He drops Nas’ critical score down like 6 points over some bullshyt. His LONE review did that. He’s a person. But he wrote for a big publication. And when u search up the album on google. That review is literally the FIRST thing people see. There’s definitely influence in that.

I'm talking in the grand scheme of things. Sure, his review dropped the album 6 points in Metacritic, but on a grand scale, does that really mean anything? I mean, Stillmatic is one of Nas's best albums and is viewed as a classic. Look at the Metacritic score though. Did anyone ever go after the writers of negative reviews for that album? Who really even cared enough?

This is 2021 where millions have already listened to this album before dude even released the review.

To be fair, that was years before modern social media. With todays modern social media it's quite easy for minor opinions and perceptions to go viral and become almost "fact". Just look at how the weak beats narrative spread from Dj Vlad about Nas' albums.

Dudes just need to admit they don't like Nas new material, All this going back & forth he don't do "Rewind" "What Goes Around" type records is just:snoop: posting

It's funny...when you think back the thing that really set things off was Nas Album Done. That song was trending on twitter, people fukked with it heavy, the hype for a Nas album was palpable. But the sound of that song, the blending of old and new...we didn't get "that" promise fulfilled until KD1 and especially KD2. This is the direction people wanted, Nas went in that direction...and now the old heads are mad while everyone else is happy. Oh well.

Yes I want another Nas/Premo track. Yes Pete Rock still makes good beats. But I'm tired of everyone getting to evolve except Nas. You know these dudes are in their group chats wondering how they can get the acapellas from the album so they can re-do it. Same shyt 9th's corny ass said publicly when Nasir came out. But whereas Nas was getting clowned nonstop online for Nasir, people fukk with this album heavy. So openly hating on it makes you look like a bozo. I mean sure if it's not your cup of tea that's fine/whatever, but I'm talking about dudes on that "this isn't boom bap so it's trash" tip. fukk them lmao.

These are the same dudes praising Jadakiss as if their asses weren't hating on Jada when he was working with Swizz back then.

I would say it has a lot of replay value, I found myself wanting to listen again this morning and I haven't had that happen in awhile with an album
Stans don’t count.
It’ll flop off the charts soon enough.
It was nice for a first listen though :ehh:

The weak beats narrative started way before Vlad.

How was he trolling? I didn't go back that many pages but if it's just about a negative review I don't see what the issue is. I clicked on his other reviews to see what scores he typically gives and damn near near everything was a 6. That's his opinion and if he feels it's a 6 he shouldn't give it a 9.
