I just think lyrically its just ok, for Nas anyway. Production is good I just don't find myself coming back to do it like I thought I would. Something was missing.
I really dont think Nas tried to lyrical miracle everybody this time. I think he set out to drop good music with a few bangers. He has songs for everybody on the album and it fits really well in his catalogue. People that prefer just boom bap nas may not dig it as much. (Not saying that's you) but just my thoughts.

lyrically it’s not dumbed down but he went with a less is more bar wise. He is in his 40’s he hates rapping them 100 bar songs a t shows when other rappers are saying aye 100 times and that’s it lol.

Exactly. If nas wants to get super lyrical he can.

People still don't understand that Nas' lyrical approach on King's Disease was intentional. Hit Boy allowed him to streamline things and not have to overthink the writing process, which built his confidence. If it sounded like a bar, then he would say that. The mic's right there, say that. That sounds dope, say that. Gayle King's fukking up, say that. You're freestyling and getting spit all over my face, say that. Girls' pussies drip when they hear your ad-libs, say that.

Anyone else feel like Car 85 is a 10/10 song? It's just beautiful on every level and one of those records where I feel like ONLY Nas could make something like this. Dude can make you feel nostalgic about shyt you never even experienced :russ:

That's a great attribute. I'm trying to think of anyone else who does that.
