Only critisim I really have is some of these joints, they coulda let ride out a little bit instead of the abrupt endings. Like I woulda loved a nice instrumental fade out on the opener. The beat it too beautiful not to. Or on Car 85 how epic would be letting that ride a little bit longer with just Charlie Wilson and that beat :ohlawd:.

If boy don’t like the album it is what it is. Everybody got their tastes. Only thing is the issue that it’s Nas’ problem and not the fact that it’s not ur cup of tea. Nas did nothing wrong with this project imo. As far as his performance.

Basically..

You got the most critiqued rapper ever putting out projects in his mid to late 40s and he still have fans that cant ever be satisfied. Lol

Been happening since IWW.

It’s like it’s cool for people to have their opinions but the issue lies when nikkas think they can A&R or Executive produce Nas. If the shyt ain’t ur cup of tea make the review about WHY it’s not. Don’t go acting like Nas needs this and Nas needs that. Nas should be doing this or that. That’s a very arrogant way to look at things imo. For what Nas was TRYING to do. He succeeded ten fold. If u don’t like what he was trying to do. That’s a different story and discussion.

Exactly.

I’m not going to listen to armchair A&R’s whine incessantly about how Nas should work with Premo/Large Professor/Alchemist and whatever other 90’s boom bap esque producer reminds them of their childhoods taking the city train while rocking Timbs and Starter jackets when the beats on this album are damn near flawless. I’m not going to listen to nikkas insinuate that the accolades this album has received are somehow an overreaction when a simple social media check will show that the album has gotten nearly universal praise.

Opinions are all well and good. But nikkas really try to pass oft their opinions as FACTS when all the proof points to the contrary.

Foxy Brown's verse was straight on "Full Circle " also considering she literally went deaf and has a hearing impairment. I'm convinced some of you just literally hate women and/or women rappers.
Actually it’s been mostly females who been mid on her verse in real life who I know. They not feeling that she didn’t stay on subject of what everyone else was rapping about. I thought her verse was dope.

I can only speak for myself but a lot of it has to do with the amount classic shyt he has wit those producers. Nas+ALC literally has never missed Premo just:wow: LP:wow: but as fans dudes gotta accept Nas not 20 years old in QB anymore as a artist he's grown:yeshrug:life changes surroundings changed. They said they want the old Nas back/play Clue tapes for old verses he still gives you glimpses of old 90's Nas shyt Blue Benz& the cure is evidence of that :wow:. Long he still putting out quality projects IDC who the producer is personally:blessed:

It is what it is bro. Like dude's who swear they some huge Nas fans because they love Illmatic and have it as the greatest hip hop album of all time. But dont fukk with nothing else he does. They arent Nas fans. They are Illmatic fans.

If you think Nas’ last great album was IWW, you’re a Nas hater. Unless you apply that same standard across the board which means Jay never had a great album, Big never had a great album. But that’s never the case. It’s only Nas who gets held to that ridiculous standard.

It's sad that these people actually exist. I get that everybody is into different things, but Nas gets some bizarre treatment sometimes. Imagine thinking a beloved and critically acclaimed rapper 30 years into his career has only made one or two really good albums......back in the mid-1990s. But they're obsessed with Illmatic. People get disappointed every time because they want Illmatic again and get pissed when they don't get it.

Then there are idiots who say things like this:

"Nas has mostly sucked for such a long time now. He has, what, about 4 decent songs since Made U Look?

I know as a culture we’re quick to label something as bad or good and then never change our minds, but Nas needs to be recognized as a moment in time and nothing more."

And this:

"Sadly...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Illmatic was an accident, a glorious one at that! The one album that was driven by the right forces excluding the rapper himself?! Maybe, the time was right then when those producers got together and made magic while the rapper had little to no influence on the product. Fast forward to today and a dozen albums later, maybe the reason we never got a God-tier album was because had his hands in it? Just a theory."

And this:

"I think the biggest issue here (outside of guest features) is Nas' content, but then again he's never been known for that."

I feel like screaming on these people when I read this shyt, but there's no benefit. :unimpressed:
