Alch is my guy. I'm not going to say he HAS to work with Nas. I'd love to see it but I doubt it happens and won't cry about it. But the weird attacks on Alchemist are weird as fukk. Or the idea that Alch isn't selling but Nas/Hit Boy are selling better. We're prob days away from Magic 2 first week estimates that won't look good. That's not a great argument to make right now. Certainly not when Johnny P's Caddy sold more than every Hit Boy Nas song combined in the last three years. And I don't want to hear "bububu the feature." You know who else could have features like that but doesn't try, apparently...

Alchemist is one of the greatest producers in rap period. He's a huge Nas stan and has multiple great tracks with Nas...most of which are better than every Hit Boy/Nas track. He likes all the shyt we like, and has produced on a large amount of the albums the Coli has put in the top ten AOTY lists over the last decade. Many of which he produced in full. Can brehs just dap up Hit Boy and leave the Alch slander out come on. If you want to push back on the Alch v Hit comparisons why not just say "Alch thinks Hit Boy is dope so why are you shytting on Hit Boy." He's given Hit Boy crazy compliments over the last few years.

A Nas/Alch or Nas/Premo album would likely sell the same amount that Nas/Hit Boy albums sell, too. No point in talking numbers.

I’m not sure Al is the best fit for nas at this point. I think someone mentioned Black Milk earlier. I wouldn’t mind seeing him with a KAYTRANADA either

I'm not reading a bunch of pages of cats saying Nas should work with someone else. Something about the nature of this partnership has Nas more inspired at 50 than he's been since he was in his 20's... at a level most artists, regardless of genre, never reach. I say let him cook til HE gets tired of it.

Gibbs and Alchemist did 30,000 first week with Alfredo.

Nas and Hit Boy did 30,000 first week with KD3.

The sales argument is DOA. Just to drive the point home further:

KD2 56,000
Magic 22,000
KD3 30,000

The first week sales are trending down with big drop offs. If sales are a determining factor for Nas sticking with Hit Boy don't the numbers say otherwise? I guess it's the lack of promo and videos right? If that's the case then why did Gibbs' major label album sell 21,000 first week, 9k less than the album he did with Alchemist which was released independently?

Hit Boy is not helping Nas move units and by the numbers it looks like people are checking out. From a pure numbers perspective a change might be needed to stimulate growth.

If the counter is "Nas is 50, he's not going to sell records" then sales shouldn't have been brought up in the first place.

That's what kills me about this. We're all Coli vets. We know that by this time next week, there will be a 10-20 page thread about Magic 2 sales. And it's gonna be full of people clowning the number while others say "another top 10-20 placing, no one else in rap can do this." People want to get mad when Jay's high sales numbers are brought up in comparison, but want to pull the same shyt on producers/rappers they deem to be smaller than Nas. We can't even get a normal response from people, ie "Nas is nearly 50 years old and still charting with new music, that's dope," because the stans have polluted the atmosphere so much that others decide to push back/troll. All while members of his street team denigrate old ass Nas fans for not streaming music enough, as if many 49yo artists have active fans streaming music lmao.

Alchemist has more monthly listeners on Spotify than Hit Boy. Metro Boomin has more monthly listeners than Hit Boy. There are as many Metro songs in Nas' top ten most streamed songs on Spotify right now as Hit Boy songs lol. The only Hit Boy track currently in the top ten has been out for months, features 21 Savage, and was tacked onto Magic 2 as a bonus track to increase sales (but won't count in week 1). I have no beef with Hit Boy, I like ALL the albums he's done with Nas. I'm only pointing this out to highlight how crazy the sales argument is when it comes to Alchemist v Hit Boy, as well as the idea that he's the hottest producer in the game when he's clearly not. And Alchemist has more noteworthy placements than him over the last couple years lol. Come on. Enjoy the music and keep it moving. This stan shyt just keeps getting more militant from SOHH to the Coli and I'm tired of it. And given that this upcoming week is gonna be rough for us Nas fans when it comes to troll threads? Maybe lets chill out lol.

These little stan wars are getting ridiculous to the point where it's not even about Nas any more. Why has this turned into Alchemist vs. Hitboy. It went from Alchemist would make better music with Nas than Hitboy to now we're actually comparing numbers.

This shouldn't even be the focus. Do you like the music or not? Hit Boy has inspired Nas to do something that no other producer has. Nas has done something that's unprecedented in Hip Hop and instead of that being celebrated, it's "he'd make better music with Alchemist". Nobody's saying anyone HAS to like Hitboy or even the KD series or Magic series, but saying he'd make better music with another producer is insane.

It was cool in the days of Nas announcing an album, dropping a single, and we as fans would speculate for months about who would be on the album, artists we wanted to see him work with, and drop producers we wanted to see him work with. Times have changed. The album is announced and it is understood that HitBoy is producing the music, because it is confirmed when Nas announces it on his IG feed. So, maybe people are frustrated because there's no longer the anticipation or build up to see who was on the album or who did which tracks since he's working with one producer.

But why is it “insane” to say as if Hit Boy is the only reason Nas is rapping, and no one could possibly hand him a dope beat right now. Coming from the same people who loved that Metro track and said it was amazing (it’s ok). My point being…stans are gonna love whatever Nas does so why pretend only Hit Boy can do this.

Alchemist ain’t giving Nas the fire Hit Boy has. And if he was capable guess what? Nas would have worked with him. He didn’t. He chose Hit Boy, and it was for a reason. Apparently a GREAT reason considering all of the success and critical acclaim.

Go run up them Boldy James streams if you like Alchemist so much
Teanna Trump ain't got shyt on you my boy

He said Alchemist is an overrated white boy :mjlol:

If Nas announced and dropped an Alchemist album they'll be in a thread stanning saying it's the greatest thing ever. Some of them couldn't even bring themselves to say Nasir wasn't good. They're really just here for Nas so don't even bother arguing or trying to get any objectivity out of them.
Exactly.

Like I said, Hit-Boy wouldn't even be a thought if he gave these beats to someone else :heh:
