We all know the complaining won't stop. Alc and Hitboy producing on a Nas album is about to give us an epic album thread of:

1) who is going to have the better beats

2) Once the album drops, who had the better beats and who was wrong

3) it would've been better had he got Madlib

4) why didn't he just let Alc produce the whole album
5) Should've been Premo and Alc

6) Where's the Az feature ?

After winning your first Grammy and finding a new collaborative partner in Hit-Boy, how would you sum up your last three years musically?

“It’s magic to get together and do what we’re doing. I didn’t see anybody doing it like [Hit-Boy]. Not to sound like I’m feeling myself, but to really look and say, “All right, what do I do now? I’m going to do what I want to do.” It’s the freedom of creating records because I just feel like it. It’s a hobby to me now to go to work. I don’t know how long this feeling to make music is going to last, but I’m going for it at the moment. It’s making me have so much fun.

I want more people to join me from my era; release your records and work hard on them sh-ts. I want to hear how people feel, and I want to hear their art. I don’t want to hear the trends, I want to hear the art. Express it, do it and be free. That’s what I’m trying to give to the game now. I don’t pay attention to anything except what I’m doing at this point because I’m having so much fun that I don’t even look up to see what’s going on. I could say that I never had this amount of fun, but I’ve had a lot of fun in my life in the business. But this feeling is unmatched.”

Feels like we getting KD4 this year. Incredible run. Applaud them boys:whew:

For those that don’t know

There is this big debate about the newer MPCs vs The older ones

People are complaining that the newer ones lost the signature sound and it doesn’t sound the same …

I know Hitboy uses this…. Is this the cause for that muted sound ?

has nothing to do with this and he also uses an asr-10

it's the mixing on digital. even if you use a old mpc like preem his beats don't hit the same today and he used the same shyt since eternity. it's not going to 2 inch reel tapes out of analogue mixing board with rack effects. digital is harsh and old head ears will always tell the difference. it feels like a loss of weight, depth volume. that is why producers spend so much time today saturating and distorting using emulating effects for that feeling. but when you hear some shyt that still being done the old way it will blow everything out the water 9 times out of 10. the mpc is NOT the problem. case in point he uses a lot of different shyt including fruity loops, mpc and asr. watch the video of hit-boy making thun and hear how hard it slaps coming out the keyboard vs the final mix... you tell me.

i don't like their mixer.. been said that. he choked the shyt out this beat

Dude must have bad ears or bad speakers or must be straight out of school …

I agree 100 percent

I heard hitboys beats from Astroworld and Utopia … them shyts sound alive

I brought up the MPC earlier because I seen people complaining that the newer ones don’t have that same sound as the old

It’s definitely a difference

You telling me you have multiple systems, and none of them are good enough for you to hear the difference in low end of the drums between the two videos?

I think what you meant to say is "I don't mind the mix." Which is cool, that's your opinion.
