I wish nikkas would just be honest with themselves rather than all these dissertations. Pete Rock was wrong and a hater. That’s just facts. People aren’t wrong for wanting Nas to work with other producers. That’s facts. People coming in here spitting half truths and flat out lies to support their opinion as a fact. That’s hater tactics. @Cladyclad being in this thread should be proof of that. nikka got the Nas hater bat signal. Lol
Once again I don’t lie or disrespect nas

So what is your issue on what I’m saying?

I need a example

But I never get one

Like I said before if it’s Gen Pop it’s fair game. I don’t go into the PC album & that Nas worship thread

I don’t agree with people saying this either. It’s about the chemistry. Not how dope or not dope the producer is. Nas works with HitBoy cause they have chemistry and workflow and developed a bond. Nothing more. Nothing less.

And people are saying the result of that chemistry isn't what they want to hear or they're just tired of hearing it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Some people are just going to go along with whatever Nas does. They couldn't even say a lazily thrown together album like Nasir wasn't good. They never argue in good faith because they're so enamored with Nas he's infallible or they will pretend like he is to protect him.

I'm just waiting on the day that Nas works with another producer on an album to see if they stand on their square or confirm that their opinions go wherever Nas goes.

Or maybe, some of us are Nas fans, and if we find we like the music, does it really matter who produced it. A lot of songs from Lost Tapes are some of Nas's best work, and it didn't feature production from the usual producers Nas was working with at the time outaide of L.E.S. It was one of the first times we heard Nas with ALC.

Look. I’m one of the biggest Nas fans on this board and even I couldn’t get with people trying to shyt on Alc and discredit him. But that doesn’t mean it’s cool to discredit HitBoy either. I’m pretty sure there were people out there who may have thought about what it would’ve been if Guru worked on albums outside of Gangstarr. But that doesn’t discredit Gangstarr. Nas and HitBoy are basically a group now. It’s bout to time start accepting that fact.

There's the possessive talk. You guys talk as if being a fan means you're obligated to support everything an artist does and those who don't aren't fans. I see that here and on the Nas reddit when I briefly checked it. People drawing lines in the sand over music and attacking people who aren't gushing like they are. Demanding people stream the album, chastising those with negative views, projecting falsehoods (stuck in the 90's), etc. That's fanaticism.

Saying I don't like his some of his production or certain elements of his production is not discrediting him. Saying he's trash would qualify as discredit.

Nas and Hit Boy can do all the albums they want. I'm not starving for music. I don't like Magic 2 so I moved one to what I want to hear. I'm not excited about the prospect of more albums but I'll still listen to what they put and if I like or don't like it I'll say so. I'll still maintain I want to hear something else but I'm not one of these people walking on eggshells prefacing their negative opinions with, "I love Nas and been a fan but...I still love Nas."

Who says we like everything he does or more specifically like everything he's done with Hit Boy? There's fans that love Magic and KD3 that weren't really feeling KD1 and KD2 or Magic 2. There's fans that love KD1 that aren't huge on KD2 and KD3.

Hit boy needs to disappear for a few years

His beats aren’t all that, Game was right using different producers on his last album

Im speaking on the people who are legitimately trying to discredit HitBoy. To act blind like u don’t see THOSE posts is being disingenuous. There’s a whole thread on Pete Rock doing basically exactly that and people were coming in and justifying it. Both ends of the shyt is corny.

Is that not how it is for most people??? Y'all seem to think that people are complaining about Hit-Boy solely because he's not Alchemist/Premo/LP etc and not because they have problems with his production. Nas has never worked with Madlib for example, but I imagine the majority of users here would be amped if we found out he was getting a beat from him because they trust his abilities. The reason why people are throwing in these other names is because they think they'd do a better job than Hit-Boy if given the opportunity. And if Hit-Boy leveld up his production to a level they were happy with they'd be fine with him. It's really that simple.

I myself, while still thinking Hit-Boy is a B+ producer, have been pleasantly surprised by his production because I didn't think much of him before the KD trilogy and Magic. But for other folks, that's not enough. And whule I'm not as hard on him as others, I'd still rather hear a Nas album with a mix of guys like Alchemist, Madlib, Metro, Black Milk, Jake One, 9th Wonder, Q-Tip etc. And while Premo's not what he used to be, he still has his fastball so I'd still much rather hear what he could with Nas today on a real track and not just a breakbeat for a novelty project.

There was that one Nas/Madlib track that leaked but it was over a beat Gibbs used and obviously was from a beat tape that floated around. That's not the same as the them being in the studio but people were using that to say Nas and Otis wouldn't work :mjlol:

A B+ is too high for Hit Boy. That's saying he's only a step away from the greats.

I think B is about fair, he has made some legendary beats in his time, even his production on Travis new song with Beyoncé was good. He’s produced a very good Rnb album for Musiq, he’s had good work on 4 Nas albums now, and that’s not accounting for his work with the likes of Nipsey Benny The Butcher and Kendrick.

Swizz Beats is a C and Scott Scorch was a B in his prime. Scott Storch was good for hits at that specific time but his sound, came across dated pretty quick and I couldn’t imagine a whole rap album with Scott Storch beats, he was better for singles.
