To be fair, everyone who doesn't have a demon in them is better developed than "Goku". Every manga has the "Goku", however Kishimoto had no idea what he was doing with Naruto....this was a "ninja" themed manga, wherein they all introduce themselves, and fight with honor like samurai
Then everyone and their mother (literally) have blood line seals/releases, followed by everyone having demons inside them, and then people popping in eyeballs into their skulls like Mr. Potato head. All that to make it end with a fist bump, Sasuke not dying, and Sakura staying irrelevant....
I say fukk Sasuke and Naruto, Rock Lee is the ninja master we deserved but never got.

Obito was probably the biggest piece of lazy writing in the whole series...
besides ignoring Rock Lee.
Finally finished watching the series a year later and kind of sad that it's ended but relieved I got to conclude it. It's a shame the huge promise that it had and in the end developed into a fight with an alien from out of space just seemed like everything that made the series great was ignored.
I watched the episodes following the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke... Sasuke with the change of heart and the village letting him go and the same with Orochimaru and no build up to the Hinata and Naruto marriage just kind of thrown in there. Seemed like whoever was writing for the series stopped caring in the end.

Exactly. Still love the series but it's clear as the years went by the quality dropped which is a shame. There is still some gold in the final war arc but all in all it's so long and just nowhere near the quality of everything before the timeskip after Sasuke leaves the village
