Been rewatching / rereading of late cause Boruto is fukking shyt
While I agree Orochimaru was a waste, he had no real end goal, he just wanted to learn more shyt and I guess its only so far you can scale that
Obito is now my favourite character, his feats alone are

Re-reading Madara vs Guy.
Might Dai is loving father. He didn't have much and never amounted to anything more than a Genin. He felt sorrow seeing he didn't have much to give to his son. No famous last name, no prestige at all, or nothing. He only had a technique, one that took him 20 years to develop and the tenacity to want more for his son. That was his legacy to this son. The 8 gates that would help save the world. He never gave up on his son, despite the fact he had no talent for ninjutsu and fought like hell to get him to the point where he could stand with the greats. This part of the story hit close to home, resonated too much with my life

Like, while those two obviously have the edge in terms of variance/bloodlines, he’s overwhelmingly more powerful than any shinobi before or after in terms of absurd, game breaking strength and durability
He legitimately squared up with a tailed beast by himself and took it to a draw, was nigh invulnerable for the most part, and died after soloing an army numbering over 10,000 (only dying by exhaustion, IIRC).
