Naruto's natural hard work is not enough to compete with Sasuke's genius. He was only able to master Rasengen as a function of Kage Bunshin, which owes to his Kyuubi chakra.
Sasuke was using a cursed seal against Naruto the first time. Naruto in Sage Mode onward was always as strong/stronger than whatever carnation of Sasuke that showed up. Second, Kyuubi chakra is not how he does kage bunshin, he is an Uzumaki, nikka did you watch this anime? All the Uzumaki have a bunch of chakra. LOL@greater intelligence = greater ninja. So Shikamaru is greater than Uzi?

First, Sasuke's curse seal was a literary power up to match Naruto's absurd Kyuubi powers. If neither Sasuke nor Naruto had the Curse Seal or Kyuubi, how would you suppose Naruto would beat Sasuke? Kage Bunshins and Rasengen? Second, Naruto's Kage Bunshin number is augmented by his Kyuubi chakra. When he accesses his Kyuubi chakra, Kakashi says Naruto has 100x times Kakashi's chakra when normally Naruto only has 2x times as much. Naruto's unique Kyuubi-infused chakra capabilities gave him the ability to create a copious amount of clones and learn from them. This is how he was able to learn Wind mastery. Third, while intelligence alone doesn't equal a greater ninja, intelligence nevertheless contributes to a ninja's ability. Shikamaru could beat Naruto with sealing jutsu, just as he beat Hidan, an S-rank Taijutsu user. Similarly to Shikamaru, many of Konoha's greatest ninja have been geniuses : Hashirama, Minato, Orochimaru, Kakashi, Itachi, etc. Obviously intelligence means something.

Speaking of the body flicker.. Adult Naruto must be an absolute beast when he gets serious. He was already able to counter Sasuke's teleport jutsu without it. Now that he has flying thunder god..
