Because Akatsuki are the major villains in the manga and Kisame was a member (one of the first introduced) of Akatsuki? And this happened in the last 400 chapters?

Man Gai been kicking ass the entire war, I don't see how cats can undermine that. This is a cat who been throwing around noon tigers like it ain't nothing and going toe-to-toe with Obito...Obito. Fighting alongside Kakashi, Bee, and Naruto. His contribution thus far cannnot be ignored. Gai has played a part in every major battle this arc. He really is a beast.
