NARUTO might be a better show than DBZ

To illustrate how much better Naruto/Boruto is than DBZ(post cell saga)/Super, look at how the battle with Momoshiki went down.

No giant out of nowhere power ups, no rage blasts or transformations, it'd just Naruto and Sasuke using the the abilities they learned during their lives.


Since Cell DBZ/Super has been nothing but bullshyt transformation after bullshyt transformation and or fusions.



Dragon Ball super is for people that like the fast and the furious movies. In fact I would say the storyline in fast and furious is deeper than what Toriyama has done in 20 years.

Vegeta was the lesser evil all the way til the end of Buu saga foh with that "he's a good guy" attempt

meanwhile sasuke tried to fukk the world and village up how many times? and naruto still on that man's piece like aint shyt happen. fukk development. that don't even make sense don't even start with sakura's single mom ass....

Been meaning to respond to this thread for months. Well I got time now.


DBZ is a classic and it's the first anime that I loved but the show is a basic and generic as an anime can get.


There is no character development outside of Gohan, Vegeta and Piccolo. Goku is literally the same character he was from the beginning of the Saiyan saga until the end of Super.


The story isn't cohesive at all post-Frieza. I'll give the Saiyan/Frieza saga its props. The transition from the arrival of the saiyans until the defeat of Frieza was pretty brilliant. Everything after that is pretty basic story wise. Villain shows up, villain beats down Z-fighters, new super saiyan transformation, villain gets beat.


The fact that there is no threat of death due to the dragon ball wishes kills the threat of danger. You die in Naruto that's it. You die in DBZ? Get the BS Dragon Radar() and teleport to the locations of the dragon balls and wish the person back to life. Complete garbage.


Naruto has its problems but its so creative and well-thought out (except for that Kaguya/Otsutsuki trash ).


Attacks in Naruto are way cooler. DBZ is basically just generic energy beams. In Naruto you have wind based attacks like the Rasengan, shadow clones, substitution techniques, fire style attacks, hypnotic attacks like genjutsu, puppet techniques, teleportation techniques and not to mention tons of various weapons like kunai and shuriken.

Character development is wayy better. Not even worth typing up. There is no argument here.

Story is better and as a result the villains are better.
Bad guys aren’t just bad for the hell of it and they don’t just want to destroy the world for bo reason. People like Pain and Obito were good guys who turned bad and have their own unique perspective on what justice and peace are.

DBZ is a classic and probably the GOAT by general consensus. I love DBZ. It was the 1st anime that I got into and is a huge part of my childhood. It was the show that put shonen on the map and started this whole trend that shows like Bleach, MHA and OP follow. Naruto came after it so it had the luxury of taking the best elements of it and improving on it. But fact is the show is really generic and the story isn’t really well written and a lot of people overlook that due to the fact that they grew up on the show and it’s a huge part of their childhood. Nostalgia clouds judgement.

Think a show that gave you two whole seasons of filler is better than the show that gave us Jiren and the Tournament of Power brehs.

Goku rather die and train on a planet the size of Newark than be a father to his kids. This nikka flew off to go train with some other kid than his own young son at the end of DBZ.

Is there a deadbeat dad problem in Japan? It seems to be a common theme in a lot of anime.
