They weren't old beats...they may have been from when he first started working on it, before Dre shelved it, but they were new beats produced for that album.
2/3 Digital projects, 2 Afro Samurai soundtracks, and everything sparse in between are better than anything Rae put out, that didn't have RZA's involvement. Rae been hatin since '98 when he called him a hippie and said that ish is wack.
These dudes don't want to pay outside producers. And for Wu priojects, for A Better Tomorrow, RZA said they could have whatever producer they wanted, but he told them they had to call them. That shut all of this ish up.

They started a global movement, made arguably the greatest song in history, CREAM. They have undeniable classics. Set a lot of trends. Were the first group to have a successful clothing line. RZA has so many classic beats. Ghostface is top 5 MC. Meth might have the goat flow in history. Cuban Linx is a top 10 album. Naaaah they def top 5

It seems like Rae main issue is RZA making wack beats for 20 years. If the beats were on point he wouldn’t have minded getting jerked.
The fans issue with Rae from 99-04 was the wack ass beats he’d been choosing on his solo albums. Its ironic how he had to go back to the drawing board WITH RZA for Cuban Linx 2 and get that spark back.
