Ghost Dog and Afro Samaurai soundtracks are topnotch and filled with dope RZA beats.

Also, nikkas need to put respect on 8 Diagrams name. RZA ran a production clinic on that mothafukka.

I like that album but I could NEVER forgive RZA for what he did to The Heart Gently Weeps. The version that originally leaked was PERFECT and he had to go and fukk it up. Why RZA?!!? WHY:damn:

They used Jimmy Ponder's instrumental version as a scratch instrumental for recording over, but RZA always planned to remake the beat from the jump. But that's where I said Rae had a legitimate gripe about the group albums- the group is recording to songs that aren't anything like what the final version ends up being. That's a completely different animal than saying you're not using RZA production for your own albums b/c it's "weak" when beat selecting for your album means you control that final product as opposed to a group album, so you can snatch up some RZA heat and run with it and nothing's going to be altered. Listen to when he complains about RZA production in those Vlad interviews and 90% of what he's actually complaining about is RZA production on group albums and flipping the tracks into something completely different than what they recorded for, most likely referencing Heart Gently Weeps specifically b/c it's the most egregious example of it.

8 diagrams was pure garbage. The best beat was produced by Eazy Moe Bee(rza co produced, but I'm sure Moe Bee is what made the beat dope due to the rest of the album). You are the first person I've ever seen in my entire life to claim that 8 Diagrams was dope. Those beats were beyond azz

You smoking that good dust Shyheim was tweaking off of when he ran over that Mexican, my nikka.

8 Diagrams has some of RZA's best beats post Forever. You a damn lie if you post on here regularly and never saw nikkas post that they fukked with it.

I get it, you're a Rza groupie(not a fan, cuz even fans don't say silly shyt like this). And from what 2 or 3 of you have been saying, Rza never fell off and since 93 has been producing classic records. You can lie to me and lie to everyone else, but once you start lying to yourself, that's when the problems start

Rza would have 1 or 2 dope beats for every 10 he'd do in the 2000s. He was done by then. Every now and then he'd give us something like "run" or "new wu", but how often did that happen?

Yup

The best beat RZA produced post the beats he produced on the Supreme Clientele album was the beat for State of Grace

Death To Spookism
Facts. Even more so now with the resurgence of goon rap and all kinds of quality producers out there. Damn near everyone is doing these one mc one producer albums now, which is dope, so why can't an MC of Rae's stature put out such an album? Nas just dropped his third high quality project with Hit-Boy, Alchemist and Muggs are doing albums with everyone, Roc Marciano doing beats for Bronze Nazareth, you got Futurewave, Dirty Diggs, Sadhugold, Camouflauge Monk, Havoc...the list goes on and on

I agree with the watering down of the Wu flag. Been saying so for years. But it's not only Rza's fault : groups like Ice Water were de facto affiliates since they were associated with Raekwon. And they didn't really bring that much to the table themselves:francis:

One of the illest out, but yo...Roc doing beats for Bronze Nazareth?..........thats major, considering how ill Nazareth is himself

that is what is top tier mixtape series fixed leading up to the original obfcl two and then the larger released obfcl ii.

trying to shyt on rae and not giving him props for his mixtape run is criminal.

as only people like busta fiddy can claim to be better as actual high quality releases on mixtapes. in the mixtape era from nyc consistently top to bottom.

art barr

You're right, his mixtape run is crazy and should be acknowledged.

But it doesn't 'fix' those albums for me. A bad album is a bad album, and Immobilarity, Lex Diamond, FILA and the Wild too are not up to par to what Rae is capable of.

That being said, Cuban Linx III is still my most anticipated album.

no man who made immobilarity, lex diamonds and FILA should be talking about beat choice

i'd argue that killah priest has done more for the wu-tang brand in the past 20 years than raekwon has. maybe we'll get lucky and get a book out of him next time

Crazy how spending money to make money is cool when its outta somebody else pockets...
Was outside producers gone do it for the love or they standard prices?
What was the profit margins on Shaolin v Wutang album after outside producers got paid?
Mixtape beats samples gotta be cleared or naw?
If RZA doesn't produce another beat - they could still keep Wu-Tang production in house and find Wu-Tang heat and keep a tight budget but Rae would find a way to diminish returns by hating in public to anyone with a mic.

If we keeping it a buck - Rae is Right - The Business gotta be Right - but the HNIC's of the business is the Diggs and Power. So who business gotta be right for?
