this is dude story summed up:

dude was in his mid 20's
married
young son
wife didnt know how to drive nor have a job

dude was a Sgt
got involved in this dumb ass program(forgot which) - that sold products online(shyt like paper towels, toilet paper) at prices higher than walmart
invested thousands

tried to get me involved without even asking
had people calling me to schedule to come talk to me without even asking me if i wanted to

i dont know what happed but he defaulted on a loan

they took his security clearance
he was not able to continue working in our area without a clearance
the army was going to make him change MOS(jobs) to some stupid shyt because of it

dude pretended to have PTSD
said that he was going to kill all of us at work
and commit suicide

the sent him to a Navy hospital for mental evaluation
had the military police come to the tech control put him in handcuffs
they do some retina movement test to prove you are crazy
test proved he was faking

he got kicked out the army with a dishonorable discharge(basically fukks you from getting any type off good civilan job)

dont know what he is doing now tho

:damn:

I'd hate to be the next person that tries to get him to sign up for another MLM, he'd probably murder them on the spot.

I hate when people push these in churches... the naïve really think it's "someone trying to genuinely put me onto something that will benefit my life".... When I was younger my wife was really into church, she was one of the youth mentors and whatnot.. The youth director's husband was into some MLM and thought that I was one of them "anything the church people say must be good" type of dudes, so when he was pushing this MLM.. I'd constantly question him on it, which he wasn't used to... I'm fairly smart, and not easily swayed once my mind is made up. He got heated and went and told my wife behind my back something along the lines of "He's not the kind of man you want to deal with, he's scared of success... he'll pollute your spirit"... and some other madness.. I told my wife I had no choice but to put hands on him because he crossed several lines. Long story short... I never put hands to the dude, he ended up ditching the scheme some months later and tried to apologize through a 3rd party as I'd basically left the church at this point. It's sad to see people get preyed on like this... it's always the people with no plan for themselves who got sucked into these things..

While this is true. I wouldn't necessarily call them stupid either. They can be just as gullible and naive as anyone else. The psychology behind these mlm's is kind of ingenious and sickening at the same time. The reason why it's so easy to get caught up is b/c sometimes you just goto a meeting in favor for a friend. they hit with the "hey I have this business meeting you should attend". The ivy grad I know who was in it tried to pull me in (Primerica) but by now at this point I was 2-3 years removed from doing cutco/vector and I already knew what was up. I just went to the meeting as a favor and they were driving (she lived up the street from me). The meetings are just a big charade, they call people's names out to give them checks (some ppl get called up more than once) and all sorts of other fukkery. A bunch of call and response, chanting, and feigned enthusiasm. I really think there is some form of hypnosis behind the entire thing. :snoop:

Also she wasn't the only person at her school (Upenn btw) who was involved she was trying to get her roommate involved as well, but her roommate was already in it.

dude the shyt ain't no genius skim. when i was a freshman in college some dude tried to pull me in to primerica. i didn't know anything about it at the time but when i went for the "interview" the shyt was plain as day what the fukk was up. any thinking person would ask themselves a few simple questions which should raise some red flags 1) if you're selling a product making so much money why would you want to pull in all these other people to sell the same shyt as you basically cutting your own throat. 2) if there is all this money to be made why is it so easy to get in (not hire experience people) and why you putting on random strangers and not friends and family.

who the fukk is buying toilet paper online:what:

The crazy thing is all you have to do is go to google and type in the name of these scams and google will automatically bring up scams

U gotta be real basic to fall for this stuff

People wanna be rich without having to work for it
Yeah i searched mine up the day i got back home, immediately saw all the negative reviews about them being a pyramid. Apparently before they would charge $100 the moment you wanted to join them for a "background check" :skip: but they've gotten smarter and stopped doing that. I mention it to my friend who introduced me into it he goes "because people think its a get rich quick scheme" :lolbron:

I almost got gulled into joining Primerica last year. I'm sitting at home and got a call from a "job" about salesmanship and other bullshyt. I didn't know exactly what it was because I never heard of it. I wasted like a hour to drive out to their offices and then I noticed the shyt was basically a MLM when the interviewer told me I would be selling things and whatnot. She tried to get me to sign up on the spot but I kept telling her I don't have the money atm and I need to wait. I told them I'd hit them up in a few days...:childplease: I ignored their ass.

exactly!! This is a dead on giveaway. No great paying job will be that easy to get into. The place i went into was eager af to get new people, like it didnt make sense. Great jobs are hard to get and here you've got these guys saying they've got members making 20-40k/month and this job is this easy to get? :what:

my brainwashed friend replied with "its good that theyre like that, theyre creating job opportunities for people" :bryan:

Genius is how they can get your family involved. The way the girl got in was through her mom and aunt. Alot of ppl won't say no to a family/friend if they were asking you for money so imagine, if they tell you they can make you money? Just consider yourself fortunate, not everyone has the mental fortitude to ask the questions you did. Those questions may seem so simple to you but there's something in your own character or experience you have that makes you ask those kinds of things. Not everyone is like that. They target the young, naive, gullible, despondent, hopeless.

Trust me there's a script and pitch that Im sure the higher ups spend ALOT of time and money on to get right. There are certain key words and phrases that they use to capture your attention. And what @Fatboi1 said about Primerica is right. They use high pressure sales tactics and have your very friend/family be the shill that's implementing it on you to get you to sign some piece of paper, and once you sign that the rabbit hole gets even deeper.

But after my experience with Primerica and all these other companies a part of me has a little sympathy for a company like Cutco/Vector. Although Cutco/Vector employs the same mlm format the main focus is not on recruiting ppl. The main focus is on the Knives, which are very high quality. In my brief (2 weeks) stint with them I went on 3 demo presentations, I made sales on two of them and the third one was a friend who even called me back b/c they wanted to buy some as a wedding gift. I know one of my friends mom still uses the knives/tools to this day and she got them like 4 years ago and they still hold up nicely.
