I agree, but people see teams like Milwaukee & Philly & get hard ons for tanking. Their is no guarantee that 1) the high draft pick will be good, 2) the draft pick will stay in NY after their rookie deal is done. We've seen it over the years with big name free agents spurning us, playing in NYC isn't as enticing as it once was.
And Milwaukee and Philly aren't winning any time soon either. So they'll be in the same place as the Knicks regardless of talent.

I'm not so much set on tanking (I joke about it with Lance comments) but I'm completely set on giving the young players more minutes whether it means a better or worse team right now. If it means losses and a better pick, that's good news because we get a better young piece to work with KP and the young role players around him. If we start winning again, I'm never gonna complain about a playoff berth and seeing undrafted rookies and overseas rookies working out so well gives me hope that our scouts will get us quality. Just get the young guys minutes and it should be a win-win in the end.
Completely agree the number one goal of this season is finding a niche for guys like hernangomez and kuzimaksas. I actually think hernangomez can be a nice piece long term next to kp6

:mjlol:No they will not be in the same place as the Knicks. The 76'ers have their main piece (Embiid) his probable sidekick (Simmons) young tradeable assets that can return good value in the future(Okafor and Noel) and two lottery picks in the next draft. The Bucks have their main piece (Greek Freak) his sidekick (Parker) and young players that are already good and still improving (Brogdon, Middleton). The Knicks currently do not have KP's sidekick, have two horrible K's (Melo and Noah), and getting to the playoffs has them picking outside the lottery.

The empty argument that the Knicks can still get talent in the middle of the draft because of faith in the ability of the FO is illogical. If one has ample faith in the FO's talent wouldn't the concept of probability lead to the conclusion that they are more likely to get a better prospect at #10 then at #17 given their ability? If cats have so much faith in the FO, why not put them in the best position to succeed?

Dudes who want the Knicks to make the playoffs only put forward short-sighted moral grandstanding emotional arguments.

Their upside is considerably higher then the Knicks

They have a young piece to build around and now ton of draft picks and assets to try to get another young player to build around

How are the Knicks gonna get another young star to pair with Porzingis?

Oh you ain't know? Phil and co. gonna pick that next young star with the 17th pick. :lolbron: I mean Shawn Kemp was picked with the 17th pick so you know there's precedent there:troll:

:mjlol: These dudes are clueless

Yes technically stars have been picked mid first round but the odds are low as hell which is why you want a high pick it gives you much much much better odds of finding a star

90% of players picked mid and late first round are out of the NBA before a 2nd contract

We 2.5 out of the 7th seed, and I would love to see our young cats get some playoff experience, which also is team improvement. And as of right now, the Knicks would have the 11th pick. Like I said before, having a lottery pick doesn't guarantee a star player. You can find some very talented players in the middle to late 1st round as well. But you cats have your hearts set on the "tanking" so I'll fall back from posting.
I'm more towards tanking but I ain't gonna shove that shyt down people throats, ain't no reason for you to stop posting breh having both sides debating respectfully and having a dialogue is great for our thread. Keeps our thread from being dead like the bird's nest in atl:mjgrin:

Did I specifically say that? Also if you watch the Knicks it's very obvious how calls rarely go our way, look at Rose and Melo 2 stars that get don't get many calls with all the contact they receive in the paint.

Also which other team has 3 back to backs in the span of a week?
Coli logic. The league doesn't want them to win. They should be undefeated and Melo should get all calls.

fukk spending a season struggling to be the 7ths seed. Better they smarten up and tank. Ya'll just going to ignore KP and act like it's playoffs or bust..... smh

With that said it's a forum man post your opinion I could be wrong, you could be wrong, it's the Internet and in the end we both want what's best for the Knicks we just don't agree on what that is.

The playoff experience you guys are talking about would be traumatizing one for kp, with the team losing by an average of 30 points a game.:phillaff:

I'd love for Kuz to be a future core piece of our bench, honestly. The guy loves to play basketball and loves to put in effort. He's not afraid and knows his own limits and plays to that efficiently.

Like O'Quinn, Liz plays even better when he's part of a winning momentum. (Kind of why if the season continues to go into the shyttee, I'd be willing to package O'Quinn and Melo for a lot of picks and solid young role players. I just want to see O'Quinn ball on a winning squad.)

I am really hoping you guys are right about Porzingis needing to move to the Center position. shyt, why NY have O'Quinn be a permanent 4... He gets muscles by Centers, ALOT. That way, Hernangomez could be the first big off the bench (or, if Melo stays at the PF position, him and Quinn and Quinn can be our rotating frontcourt.
