Fair enough if that's what he actually meant. My point with him though is forget about this current team. when we're any good again one or two players will still be here that are here now so how the draft pick fits in with the current players other then KP means nothing to me.
Breh,

I'm not disagreeing about BPA. I'm g

@ikbm is correct about what I meant. I am not thinking about the current make up of the roster when I make a statement like that considering I'm all in for a rebuild. I look at these next couple of seasons as a pinterest board - see what looks good so we can truly buy into it when prospects start to bud and we are ready to be a team.

This, for me, is a roster of players, not a team.

With that being said, I am specifically looking at it in regards to pairing with KP, only. I want to see either a floor general w/ perimeter defense, a sg w/ potential 2nd or even 1st scoring option w/ defensive potential or a SF w/ a healthy offensive repertoire w/ the physical tools to be defensively molded.

Why? because I salivate at the idea of clamps at the perimeter and clamps at in the paint w/ KP - less chance of KP sitting because of foul trouble, which begets KP's ability to flourish on both sides of the court w/o feeling like the next call will force him to sit.

Speaking of Monk, though, what do you feel is his ceiling?

Good, I hope they sign him before we do

Be worse defensively then Jose Calderon brehs :francis:
Derrick Rose wants to win though
Wolves are rumored to be looking to pursue D. Rose and knicks got his bird rights and are rumored to want Rubio. If it's true I could see their being a sign between teams.
unused cap space deads that idea.

So Frank it is then brehs?

I agree with D. Rose wanting to win and I'd love to see him in a competitive place - I hope he is in a Wolves jersey next year.

Why do you say unused cap dead's the idea of a sign and trade?

Use the cap space to take on bad contracts. I hope we're able to exploit Portland when they want to make a move.

I don't think we'll have the cap space after it came in lower than expected. We have 19 mil but have to spend chunks to bring a few guys back, Holiday prolly gets paid a decent amount. We might be able to eat a contract, I like the idea but it looks a bit tougher than I'd thought it would be and we're crazy if we don't add an experienced PG. KP and Willy are gonna need someone who can reliably get them the ball.

Glad to hear the Wolves will be interested in signing Rose, hopefully we don't offer him more money because at this point in his career money will be more important than going to a team like the wolves who are not ready to compete.

I wouldn't even mind a sign and trade with the wolves for Rose and Rubio, shyt throw in oquinn and the 8th pick and get back the 7th and draft Isaac.

Considering his 6'3 size[If we draft him, I will sacrifice two pigeons and a goat for a shaman to help him with a growth spurt lol] what type of situation do you feel he'll develop best in?

Playing the 2 on offense and switching with our PG to play the opposing 1?

Rose's cap hold is gigantic, I think we'll end up just rescinding his rights.

True but the Knicks could S & T Rose for Rubio and still leave the Knicks with about 6- 10 mil and exceptions to chase FA. Which based on the rumors fits with the level of FA's they plan to chase. Knicks can then use Bird rights to re-sign their own FA's.

It would also let the Wolves give Rose a contract bigger than the 13 mil they have in cap space. Plus they have way to many PG's. Rose is a better stop gap for Dunn too of they think he is the future since Rubio is in his prime now.

When it comes to dudes that haven't played PG, there's only two ways to handle them, either throw them out there and hope they develop (Russell Westbrook) or find another playmaker to pair them with in the future. If you draft Monk, he's going to be at the PG spot since he doesn't have the size for SG, but that doesn't necessarily mean he has to play the position that way if you can find a bigger playmaker in the future to run the offense through.

If you find that player, you have two ball handlers.

How is Rubio defensively?

And would y'all like a pairing with Rubio and Monk?

Man, the spots Monk would be able to pull up from.:whew:

It should be reminiscent of him with Fox. Basically Rubio is a defensive, playmaker who can't shoot...... in some ways he's Fox's floor if he never develops a jumper. It'll still be a small back court but it would work.

:ehh:

On the flip put Rubio with Ntilikina and Lee and that is potentially a tough defensive back court that by extension should help KP and Willy foul less since less guards will be able to just drive into the paint.
