Question, with respect to Iman Shumpert...

do we believe it was more that Shump was just an average player through and through or do we believe that Shump could have really been something special if not for our development program?
below average player at best, defense is overrated, can't shoot well, can't finish well around the rim even though he's athletic. He's the 8th man off the bench at best

No, we know this.

My bad if I'm not understanding. Are you saying that regardless of where he was drafted, this would have been his fate?

Special? Lol I've never heard anyone say Shumpert and special in the same sentence

He's a mediocre player. playing with Lebron that's as good as a role player is gonna ever look.

He might've been something better I think had he a better development team, none of knicks drama and not gotten that first injury. That injury really was a mental roadblock for him.

The knee injury at the end of his rookie season coupled with him not seeming to have the same focus that stars typically have did as much or more than the development program. We were letting him get burn at PG even and his defense as a rookie was really promising but he stagnated or regressed after the knee injury and even at his best there was always the appearance of having interests and passions outside of basketball. The dudes who eat, sleep and breath basketball are the ones who grow exponentially; especially when it comes to major injuries like a torn ACL. But rookie Shump looked like he could trend into a legit two way player...not an allstar but above average.

Perhaps the knicks organization hindered his development, he had a decent rookie season but so did landry Fields, he actually had a better rookie season across the board than shumpert. Could of been the injury that stopped him from getting better, but dude can't shoot and he still can't seem to finish around the rim

Yeah and there was a reason he was picked 17. He's always had huge flaws

These dudes in the media got a problem, aggressive for no reason:scust:

Ehh, you ever look through a member of the media's mentions? It's not usually them who are aggressive for no reason.

Also, how are you gonna say no reason, when that dude randomly calls him a liar. :mjlol:

The injuries derailed his career, add that to starting off in a dysfunctional franchise and he just couldn't quite get right.

But that first year and a half, when he had near-elite lateral movement AND could explode to the hoop. And then developed a reliable jumper -- he had the makings of a very good starter. Not an all star, but a very good player.

Brehs I feel like it's maybe time to kick the tires on Udoh. Him and Hines looked really good in the euroleague final four. DX says them and Khem Birch are all worth looks for their defensive versatility (and ability to pass/move the offense)

I'mma need Orlando to draft Monk and save the Knicks from potentially drafting him and taking an L. He's a better fit there anyway.
Orlando is such a mess right now. It probably doesn't matter who they pick. If doc takes the gm gig they gonna trade that pick for his son:mjlol:
