Knicks and Ntilikina, don't think it happens. We never get the player we talk up.
I think the direction the team wants to go for is more pass first, Feed Willy or feed KP next year guards. I am also wondering after the press conference if they have identified Baker as someone who can be their PG next year. On most teams he would be a backup but in the Tryangle the PG is ususally a 3&D guy. Patrick Beverly would be the ideal Tryangle PG, Fisher was more or less the same thing but physically smaller than Baker so he fits that mold of Tryangle starting PG. Physically Ntilikina looks like he could be a Tryangle SG, great size to post and shoot over defenders, all around skilled, can't drive but the Tryangle isn't a screen/roll offense that requires that.
I know a lot of teams aren't placing a high value on that. Phil is marching to his own drummer and Ntilikina at #7 is more evidence of that. BPA at #7 is considered one of Fox, Monk, and DSJ . Offensively all 3 are ahead of him and are more likely to contribute sooner than later. Ntilikina has the defense and physical stats to potentially be better than all of them, but without a system built to hide his early strength and speed issues (like the Tryangle) I think he would be on a longer development timeline.
As far as the Wolves not taking a pg keep in mind there's a decent chance they trade the pick for immediate help
Wolves are a complete wildcard. They got a squad, but can't win. The offense suffers under Thibs (no surprise) but they defense is bad too. I could see them moving back for help or trading it completely. They need to figure out how to win or trade either Zach or Wiggins. They are the team I see most likely to trade the pick in the top 10 and yeah I am not surprised they are perfectly positioned to fukk the knick draft up.
