Gobert is the template for how Porzingis should be built.
lol i already see someone trying to downplay KP's potential cause of this game
gobert was a foul machine before his 3rd year and was just as frail.
all the jazz are doing is a basic dump down off a pick and roll...and the team defense is so trash.....that KP is damn near trying to guard the roller and keep the ball handler honest :dead:
derrick rose is terrible with help on the pick and roll....and so is melo...ironically their matchups are the two running the pick and roll the entire game :mjlol:

you know....I honestly think....rose is worse for this team than carmelo is.
you can actually live with carmelo being mediocre on defense...and you dont need him to be a playmaker
you cant have a floor general on the court being lost on every pick and roll....and not creating for others...and not shoot well from distance and expect to win.
i'll keep it 100....we were a 500 team farther in the season last year with less talent...:manny:

I agree, defensively Rose is considerably worse then Melo. Hes damn near Calderon status amd has no peripheral vision. Its like he plays with a blind fold on

This is the first game that I missed in its entirety all season. I've missed halves or had to run back and dvr but didn't bother with this one tbh because rewinding to watch a game where I'm rooting for a loss ain't worth it. As a purely box score watcher on this one, I'm more concerned with the fact that the vets mins don't look like they took a cut at all than anything about KP guarding Gobert...Gobert is a monster and the reason I think we should give KP more time to bulk up before we even consider making him a full time C (Willy's potential being the other variable for me).

I dunno what happened to :rose3: as a playmaker. he used to be decent, but the last few years his playmaking has been flabby as hell. especially since he's so ball dominant. one thing I attribute to his poor playmaking is that he thinks he has to always jump to make a pass, which is a recipe for plenty of turnovers.

It's not fully his fault.

Our entire structure and philosophy on this team brings out the worst in EVERY PLAYER.

Bullshyt. Rose is having his most efficient and productive year (highest ppg, FTA, and FG%) in his first season with the Knicks since the 2012 season yet still only dishes out 4.4 apg despite playing with one of the best stretch big men (Porzingis) and excellent spot up shooters (Lee and Anthony). Two full seasons' apg prior to this: 4.9 and 4.7.

he wasnt exactly playing better before he got traded to us.
his skillset doesnt transfer well in todays nba...atleast for being a starting PG...while his slashing is amazing sometimes....his other attributes are lacking.
what philosophy is implemented that makes him a turnstile on defense?
do we have a philosophy that doesnt include basic team defense awareness?
philosophy aint gonna change someones vision. you have it or you dont.
philosophy aint gonna make you shoot 25 percent from 3.
while there are things practically wrong from coaching and up...that doesnt effect general skill.
i mean we're talking about a former mvp...he should know what to do to be be effective.

Rose got traded from one bad organization to another. I feel like if he goes to better a team with a more competent coach and offense he can be decent as a playmaker again. It's pretty clear that the dysfunction within the organization has some effect on the players. They look miserable af out there. I can't even be mad at Rose for playing for his contract at this point to be honest.
