People make fun of Lonzo's jumper but dude is shooting over 40% from three in college, he displays shooting ability off the dribble, quick release and has deep range. Maybe dude just has an ugly jump shot.

His jumper is like a cross of Bill Cartwright and Kevin Martin :dahell:

Yeah, see -- here's the problem with that. As far as spot-up -- cool. But he pulls the ball from his left shoulder and flings it with his elbow wide. The structural problem that it creates is that he point-blank DOES NOT pull-up when going right. He HAS to be dribbling to his left to do it.

Nobody is arguing with success, but of all the guys who had similar kinds of cross-body windups, only kevin martin had any success, and he did almost NO ball-handling. Lonzo is going to be expected to have the ball in his hands all the time.

Now, to just be a point guard who can bang down 3's, and create -- that's not a big deal. But to be a star? To be the number one guy? Teams are going to key in on that, and know that when you go right, it's layups and floaters only, because you can't pullup on that hand. They're going to shade you, and take away your left, and it's going to make you one-dimensional.

THAT is the fear. It's not just aesthetics. It's how the form leads to function.

Then again, maybe it doesn't prove to be a big deal, but when people talk about it as part of a weakness, it's not the ugliness -- it is how it is going to be problem.

Lmao, the thought of a superstar like Lonzo Ball playing for some garbage ass franchise like the Knicks. Lonzo will be with the Lakers or either Celtics. Knicks can tank all they want, they won't be getting the #1 pick. I can assure that because that's not what's best for the league.

I tried to watch more of Fultz this season, especially after it became apparent that we need a PG moving forward. The only chance I really had was a game against Arizona, and I think he was hurt. I had heard the noise but since Washington wasn't getting national TV burn it's hard to watch them.

How would you compare him and Ball as far as better fit with what the team needs?

Ball is a better fit for this team I believe. Fultz is more ball dominant. Simmons said it the best, 10 years ago a lot of these guys would be shooting guards. But cause of AAU, the best player always dominated the ball so we just kept calling them PGs. Not saying I'd be mad if we drafted Fultz, but I just really love Ball's ability to run an offense. The difference he's made for a UCLA team that wasn't good last year is night and day.

Yeah, I have some real questions about Lonzo being THE GUY on a team, but fewer if he's your 3rd best player. That cross body jumper is such a fundamental mechanical flaw, and it would take YEARS to clean it up, and make a new form start to feel natural. Fultz seems to be the most bulletproof prospect, now that his jumper has shown consistency. I've loved Isaac, but now I'm a little worried that he's gonna have to play stretch 4 or even 5 -- which is a cool thing for some teams, but would put him, essentially, in the same slot as KP. I like the idea of playing them together, but I don't know if our current front office/coach are creative enough, or allowed to be creative enough to do that.

I still really like Frank. I like Monk and Fox, too - but just have real questions about how great they can be with their (fatal?) flaws.

Miles Bridges made Tatum look like a child.

What I like about Ball is that he's big enough that you could grab one of the non-floor general but great scoring PG's that seem so common these days and pair him with that sorta cat comfortably. With KP as the defacto primary scorer, a ball mover like Lonzo would be a really nice fit. Fultz is the safest choice for sure, but I'd be really hype for Ball or Jackson from the standpoint that their skillsets give you a lot of different options to fill out the rest of your line-up. Jackson and Kansas as a whole has been my favorite team to watch for a minute now, I like what Mason does for them too.

Fox grew on me a lot and I like the stories and clips I see of Frank but I've seen so much more of everyone else at this point that the comparison is getting harder. His numbers since starting are sick but I haven't watched to say much.

I wish I'd watched Tatum and Bridges match-up.

Shoulda happened ten games ago but better late than never. The fourth most lottery balls is a possibility although this is the funky part of the season where good teams rest starters and bad teams full of young guys playing to keep their careers get upsets so I'll be nervous.

I definitely didn't expect us to lose 15-18 games to end the season but that pacers, magic and sixers win will come back to haunt us. Kings, sixers, magic are tanking just like us so that 4-7 will be a huge tank race

The Sixers aren't that pressed on tanking, they have swap rights with the Kings this year and get an unprotected first next year from the Lakers if they don't get it this year.

The Knicks need to lose out, cause the Magic only have 2 more real winnable games vs the Nets and that's not a given cause the Nets play hard. The Sixers have 2 against the Nets as well, the Kings have the Mavs, Lakers, Suns and Pelicans.

That last game of the season is Sixers vs Knicks at the Garden, shyt is a must lose :russ:

Oh yeah, to be clear: I like Ball A LOT.

I was just answering the question "what if he just has a ugly jumper?"

I hear ya, definitely need the sixers to win a few games.

Both magic and kings have 2 winnable games. Out of the 4 you mentioned for the kings I don't see them beating the mavs or the pelicans, the other two is a toss up as well.

I fear justin holiday hits some bullshyt buzzer beater against the sixers and costs us a top 4
