You came in here pretending that he could. You don't need your point guard to be a "lockdown defender" -- what you need to do, is keep them from consistently getting wide open layups, and slashing into your defense.

The point guard position is very tough to defend, but there are guys who consistently do it - guard up, create turnovers, force the opposing player to weak spots on the floor. That's the job.

Rose can't defend at all, he's an inefficient scorer, he struggles to create for others - he's trash now, and if somebody wants to hand over an asset - great.
