No dumb lil nikka, YOU don't know what you're talking about. I've been here 30 years bruh

Woodlawn
Pelham Gardens
Morris Park
Riverdale
Country Club

Those are the only nice areas in the borough. Everywhere else is the hood. Back blocks with some new row houses don't change the facts that crime is still high and shyt is still fukked up in the neighborhood as a whole.

RIVERDALE :myman:

they call it BoCoCa, the hipsters. All the old italians are angry, it's like the all of "south brooklyn" is almost gone. (Carroll Gardens/CobbleHill/Boruem Hill)

Bay Ridge ans Sunsent Park are next and those areas aren't even grimey. Sunnnyside, Woodside, Maspeth/Ridgewod/Glendale/Middle Village in Queens, are other white areas with folk saying the same thing black/latinos in bushwick/crown hights/bed stuy are saying. This is a cultural and economic problem.
I live there and i am the only black person in the whole area, you got Spanish and asian but more whites have moved in, the Asians have the area on lock so there won't be major changes for awhile.

You sure? I always hear about woodside being the next target. I believe about being the only black person there, it's seems nice and fun without the riffraff :manny:

Its funny. I wonder if people who pretty much came down on the people in the so called crime ridden areas these hipsters are moving to heard the thoughts of Brooklyn heads who live in middle class neighborhoods that don't want their area to become a hipster enclave to.

Again, you have two groups of people who want to live in an area and don't have the $$$ to buy up controlling stakes. What is your solution? How does one side have any right to claim "ownership" of the neighborhood more than the other w/o holding any titles/deeds?

I don't have a solution. Nor did the article I'm speaking. I'm pointing out the rarely articulated point of view of the people living in these areas.

This thread alone is full of videos, documentaries and articles capturing the views of the people living in these areas. If anything, the voices most absent from this discussion are the powers that be (Bruce Ratner types + the landlords and entities clearing people out).

And every problem has a solution, whether its viable or not is another story. You keep screaming about how terrible "hipsters" are- hipsters of course being anyone who doesn't look to you like they belong in the neighborhood. You claim they don't interact with people in the neighborhood (which is false). Do you think BK would be better off without them, and if so why?

I'm talking about states like Georgia and Texas where current population trends will make them swing states in 2016. They have massive employment opportunities for black folk. In another 10 years the populated southern states will be the prime spot, especially when NYC become too gentrified to live in for black folk

I hope you right breh, I live down here. Texas is nice but don't get it twisted on how things are ran down there. Them Texans have made my big breh come out his face. He despises how cacs are down there. He actually is so disgusted that he's thinking bout moving out of the burbs back into the hoods in Dallas and he's a Doctor. Them cacs something serious the way they are down South on their subliminal system of racism.

That shyt pisses me the fukk OFF. My sis dumb ass just gave up our apartment of 30 plus years In crown Heights, right across the street from Brooklyn botanic garden. The second she moved, the bullshyt metal kitchen cabinet, shyty sink, bathroom, everything revamped and made new. My best friend who lived up the street moms was given 5gs to move out her crib. I walk past their old apartment and can see these beautiful wood stained kitchen cabinets through the beautifully hated first floor window.

I can't tell you how steamed it makes me. Then for these newbies to come in, shout "Brooklyn" as if they were there when it had flavor, living off its fumes.

Annoying as fukk.....

:wow:

Good. I'm adding to the rarely exposed pot and bringing

Sure they can come in, but usually when they do, the disneyfying of an area comes with them, their wants being similar to their big tent Wal-Mart style wants. And its usually at the expense of the localized character that makes New York, New York.

No one wants that.
