Brooklyn is fukking finished and has been that way for years. Saw one of my cousins over the weekend who lives in East New York and she told me the Jews are in there heavy offering black bags of $ (actual cash) for their 2 family/2 floor homes. Her man has a sister who had 4 fukkin brownstone style homes and she sold 2 of them because she saw that $ and went after it. Some folks cant help themselves when the money comes. shyt is sad but true. Harlem is the current CAC haven and East Harlem might be next but its tough because theres so many damn projects along 1st, 2nd, Park and Madison Aves

yea East Harlem has been a failed gentrification spot for a while because public housing of many sorts dominate much of that area just like Brownsviille in Brooklyn.

Im also noticing that HPD is using those massive lots found in many larger housing project complexes and building on them. "Affordable Housing" Noticed this in Brownsville and East New York.

Why is sharing an apartment a problem? Saving money is only a problem on the coli. Asian and Spanish do it to save money for thier kids and family and if anyone else does it so what? Pocket watching isn’t a good look. If blacks did it we could save money build with each other and afford to stay in that area and when they meet a wife or whatever they have Money saved to buy or move to a decent area.

Im not all for sharing an Apartment but if you are one of those work hard type of people and good with money, than sharing an apartment is probably a good idea since you are most likely single or dating and out the apartment most of the time anyway.

New York is a working class city. That's how it was and still is structured. When you move up the ladder or are already high up on the chain, you basically move out or to the better part of town. There needs to be an affordable area for the working class. They are the backbone of the city. The fact that you have well off people moving into the working class neighborhoods and turning them upscale is really bad for the city. What happens when such neighborhood no longer is viewed as hip, those hipsters get tired and decide to move out by the masses? Ghost towns. New York will be a fukking ghost or a slum again.

I hope that happens again. The bubble gotta burst.

We are always slow to act.
The tide will come, eventually. Not a matter of if but when.

East Harlem is a tough nut to crack because of that project density. And folks are getting up outta those spots anytime soon even tho alot of them are dangerous as fukk, jammed with people and not well maintained. The cheap rent, big apts, views (for the high floors) and accessibility to transportation like the Second Ave Subway arent an incentive to go anywhere. The city will have to be on some fugazi shyt like saying there were flaws in constructing those buildings back in the day and they arent safe. They'll find some cheap way to get folks "relocated", take the buildings down and sell the land of billions. The city isn't interested in being a landlord/landowner when it doesnt benefit them.

That’s why the projects are being privatized. They aren’t taking the buildings down, they are renovating them.
