NY
Philly is getting them because we already have a big scene, they can get to ny no prob to sell art, rent is dirt cheap, public transit is great etc. philly's been exploding with ny artists lately while ny has been exploding with rich posers.

I just checked for rent at Philly, downtown apartments go for as
low as 1200. :wow:
How is Philly, is it clean, is there a rat and cockroach problem like NY?

Where is this capital supposed to come from? Do you see Chinese folks buying Jordans and lotto tickets?

Let me ask you guys, what do you think it would take for us to gain some level of independence and consolidated power? Please don't say a handout + apology from the same white power structure you blame for our predicament today
Chinese culture includes ritualistic gambling and Chinese are all about gear. My Chinese roommate back in college came thru with the new LaBron's a few weeks before release. Dude had the BapeSTAs when they were hot.

As for what would it take to reverse the negative trends… that would require the end of "Blackness" and the "Black" identity all together. It's hard, but the moment Blacks stop seeing themselves as "the inferior other" they'll get ahead.

black folks have to take ownership of this problem with gentrification in NYC. We had Harlem, Bed Stuy and we still have Jamaica...but we messed all of that up. Some parts of Queens are OK (Rosedale and St.Albans.)

The rest is almost purely unlivable. We have destroyed anything habitable where we are the majority in places like Brownsville/ENY, Stapleton, Mott Haven etc etc.

Center city is really nice and clean.

I pay 890 for a 1 bedroom apt in the best part of town... Haven't seen any mice or cockroaches

Lol some dude here tried to tell me white people wouldn't DARE go to flatbush/the junction...riiiiggghhttttt. As if that would be anything to be proud of anyway. This reverse white flight is weird and something has to be done with gentrification. One thing though is the folks that OWN their place and then yuppies come and offer 2 mil for a brownstone they probably bought for 125k

Have you ever been to center city? Its gorgeous? I'd rather live here than any part of Chicago

Center City is like the "Manhattan" of philly. But the rest of the city--West Philly, North Philly, South Philly (Point-Breeze section) are uninhabitable. West Oak Lane (my area) is OK, Germantown (Germantown ave) loooks like wreckage after WWII. East Oaklane has nice houses. North East is OK and affordable for low crime and high density shopping.

Anything surrounding center city is blowing up. Give it 5 years and you won't recognize point breeze, it's getting built up very fast. Same with many parts of north Philly.

I go visit every month from NY to see the folks. It actually looks worse to me in some areas, and better in others. Right now Philly's budget is :flabbynsick:
