As much as realtors would like any given neighborhood to be "hip", I highly doubt yuppies would be interested in The Bronx, depending on the neighborhoof it's either way too grimy or not close enough to Manhattan depending on where you are. If anything, somewhere like Pelham parkway would be hot for people who got displaced out of "prime" neighborhoods.

Breh, it's going to happen regardless of the Bronx's reputation. The transportation system is denser and more proximal to Manhattan than Queens, it's gonna happen. The developers will make sure to clean up the decades old reputation over here in order to get that Brooklyn moolahh. :blessed:

nikkas said the same shyt about Harlem, now I'm seeing hipsters left and right on a daily basis. And some even spreading into the Heights past 145th.

I would be shocked if the South Bronx becomes even 5% white. Maybe some hipsters (actual hipsters, not yuppies) and other types of white people will move there but I doubt the average yuppie type would be comfortable there.

Surprisingly though, Mott Haven has a really bad reputation but to me it feels a lot less ghetto than say, Longwood

Soundview doesn't seem too bad either

I saw a group of 5 white kids(definitely in their 20s) riding bikes across Willis Ave Bridge the other day. Not to mention that new luxury complex recently built on Port Morris :snoop:

From my POV the gentrification is coming from minorities with white collar jobs that are making up to 3x what the avg person in the Bronx makes a year.

Which luxury complex is this? I haven't been over there in a while.

Harlem is way closer to Midtown Manhattan, plus it's actually in Manhattan which automatically makes it more expensive. As for the Heights and Inwood, there have always been white people there, mostly West of Broadway though.

Plus most of The Bronx seems to lack amenities.

Port Morris might actually become hot but it never had a big population to begin with (to displace).

As for those dudes on bikes, Mott Haven practically seems to be a tourist attraction in a sense so I wouldn't think too much of those dudes being there.

But then again there do seem to be some white people who actually live there.

Also I'm surprised by how many Mexicans I see in parts of the South Bronx, I wonder if Mott Haven will become the next Sunset Park.

I'm not talking about them Jews and whites living in them tall apartments by Riverside Drive. I'm talking obvious transplants.
