I asked 2 people in this thread for real world ideas on how to change the tide and have people continue to live in their areas, what i got was eat soul food and wear your hair natural and the old cliche stand by invest in black businesses and another reply was to get "together and organize" against the people who are taking their old hoods away. This is my problem with the soap box coli activists, they just talk bullshyt and simple mined solutions, i gave examples of how it could be done now, with just a focus on education which will enable smarter people with real business plans to put money into the community, i said we need real businesses not the rib store or ali's silk, because they won't provide enjoy decent paying jobs to these areas, we need more real estate offices and lawyers and auto shops and to invest into chain stores like CVS and Duane Reede to get black pharmacists into these communities to provide proper healthcare which would really serve the community, now someone is going to say what just open up an all black drug store instead, well simple answer is the pricing at a chain store is way less than a local supplier could ever get so that investing needs to put into better things such as an IT career center and a good nursing program and maybe some out of the box programs where we could learn different languages like Japanese, German French and Chinese which are the most spoken international business languages in the world. Now there is a place for good restaurants and nail salons and the local sneaker shop and bakeries but i want those places to pay a wage that prevent them from being uprooted because the rent goes up. I was accused of being to hard on black people well other races are just harsh or worse so the harder we are on ourselves the easier it will be to keep up. I want us to win and to win you must do whatever it takes, no matter who is hurt for the greater good.

YOU are the reason why things won't work out like they should or it will take longer, you want a mansion before you rent an apartment, meaning you have to start somewhere. You take my comments, and make a joke out of them instead of taking it for what I meant. Blacks like you make it so hard for people who want to grow to be the best they can be because, you think they should be flying before they even know how to run, so you put them down, and kill their spirit. I can tell you don't know how money works yet you're telling others what they should be doing. I was selling things since I was in H.S. and getting money MY way, for the most part. I also have family members who actually owned business's( that lasted longer then the average business btw), then sold them, while people like you are still talking about what we should be doing as a people, with these grandiose ideas, and working for whites. Those business's you make fun of fed me, my family,my mother, her family and our extended family(we are Black Americans) which helped us go to school. They didn't sit around talking about how to help the community, they found something they were good at, made money, bought real estate for the business, and lived. This is why I know you don't know what you're talking about. Life is about progression, you start small, then you will grow big. IT IS HOW THINGS WORK.

THE REASON WHY BLACKS STOPPED GROWING IS BECAUSE WE WERE MANIPULATED INTO THIS SITUATION, NOT BECAUSE WE JUST ARE LAZY OR fukkED UP, AND WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS IN THIS COUNTRY. This is a FACT, if you study our history in this country you would know this. That is why we have to gain our pride back then everything will come together but, deep down you don't like those things or care about them so you don't understand this. Maybe, you're way of doing this will work but, until you actually do something on your own don't put down others for putting out ideas that hit the root cause of the problem.

Good for you, here is a pat on the back and read my previous post you simple fukk, i said pride in your neighborhood is the most important thing, btw i never insulted you, yes i belittled your stupid remarks because they are stupid, but no personal attack on you at all, truth hurts right? I am breaking our people down? How by telling them the truth we have to do more and have to push ourselves, to hold our selves to the highest standard? That is a bad thing?

There aren't that many black folks in NYC anyway. I don't even think they register on the population map.

Where did I say you were white?. I stated you are putting down those business's while WORKING for whites. At least they answer to themselves, and can live by their own principles.

Yeah, you are someone who just has a dream of how the world works INSTEAD of how it REALLY IS. I'm done because, I'm just talking in circles with you.

Blacks in NYC are only about 25 percent but in raw numbers its over 2 million, making them number 1. NYC had more blacks then the state of California until the 2000 census.

Good thing about gentrification is that it has the sistas out there jogging. Not ad many as there needs to be, but at least some are now. Think they notice the competition is getting thick (or "slim" in this case :jawalrus:) and they can't keep up the excuse of "not having the time" when all these Becky's seem to find the time.
