Good thing about gentrification is that it has the sistas out there jogging. Not ad many as there needs to be, but at least some are now. Think they notice the competition is getting thick (or "slim" in this case :jawalrus:) and they can't keep up the excuse of "not having the time" when all these Becky's seem to find the time.

That's cause they don't have jobs.

The "Becky's" (transplants) in Brooklyn don't have jobs. That's why they have all this free time to excercise, cause they either have trust funds or their parents are paying for them.
why would they pick these places to live if they all lived on trust funds, the most expensive city in the USA, wouldn't the money run out? Are all these parents super wealthy where they just shell out money for years at a time? You are being to general, they have jobs because they went to pretty good schools and they have connections already, I know plenty of them and that is how it works, they make connections and partner up to get apartments, now some of them who are just starting out, they get furniture and TV's and computers from family, but most of the items they get are from dumpster diving and restoring it.

Who doesn't have jobs?

Breh be thirsty for the hispters girls now, of course they have to step it up. Losing your mans to some geek from Iowa(haha) is not an option.

San Francisco is still more expensive then NYC. All of them work at coffee shops, Fort Green, Park Slope, and the city.

San Francisco is different though. Many of the beckys here have flexible, solid, high-paying jobs that give them enough free time to exercise while managing to pay the high rent.

True. Them High tech gigs pay plenty. But there still are some cheap areas of NYC too.

I have some acute observations about these hipsters that I've been dying to share.
  • They look so lost walking around Brooklyn. I was at the Burger King on Knickerbocker and Myrtle having some food, and this one blond hipster girl with a clipboard who had to weigh 80 pounds soaking wet walks in just looking so out of place in the sea of Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and Black people in attendance. I wanted to laugh at her, but that would of just been really cruel.
  • They are the some of the most arrogant, self-entitled, self-centered, and elitist people I've ever had the displeasure to be around.

LOL that BK is right next to the 83rd Precinct, so she probably felt safe.. :pachaha:I feel you on the first point; that was my old hood, and going back, I barely recognized it, especially after they built what amounts to (for that area) skyscraper looking spots by the Myrtle/Wyckoff stop on the L/M train. It seems like at first glance that they wouldn't be understanding the struggle that most of the people from around there are fighting on a daily basis.

Second point, though, I ran into some on the train that seemed to be genuinely nice. My wife and I ran into a couple on the train the last time we were in the city, and were very friendly. My son wasn't feeling well, and the dude got up and offered my wife and son his seat. It kind of threw me for a loop. Kicking it with him, we found out that they weren't from the city (shocker), but didn't have that entitled vibe. And a few years ago, I was in the city for a Mets game, and went to kick it with my wife's uncle, who lives on Putnam, right behind Bushwick HS. Those familiar with the area will know how it looks. So me and Tio are chilling outside on his stoop when the door to the next building opens and this white hipster dude loudly asks Tio if he's coming through the spot to play dominoes, that he's gonna pick up the pizza later, and asks if Tio can bring the beer. I was sitting there like :dwillhuh: and Tio was like "yeah, that's my man, we kick it all the time"

No breh. Don't get it twisted trust fund babies life off their parents. How do you think they can intern with a small salary for a year but live well. Bank of mum and dad.

If you meet a hipster who earns a minuscule amount but eating good, rent paid, mortgage deposit, taxi's everywhere that's their parents. Don't let your hipster friends BS you they ain't paying for shyt.

Low key allot of them sell green plant products to sustain that income level. Those plants are smoked all over Bk and LES.
