Pittsburgh is gentrifying for sure... Exciting town. I don't think there's a ton going on in Harrisburg, at least not that I've heard of... Haven't been there in years

I'm involved in a big project in trenton, nj that will jumpstart gentrification there ... Hopefully starting work before years end

I'm interested in Allentown... Some serious potential there

:obama::myman: The Real Estate companies be on that grind out here, and with exception of the slumlords that be fukking over the kids from Pitt and Carnegie Mellon, folks I've met have nothing but good things to say about the r.e. companies. There is an area called East Liberty out here that is so gentrification ready :ohlawd::noah: as my sister stated when we drove past the area "Yeah this area won't look the same when you graduate" :mjpls::mjpls:.

I'm not sure it was posted here, but East NY's black population has increased due to being priced out of Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, etc. Thing is, there is a lot of development planned for the Spring Creek area. The Gateway mall is gonna be doubled, the Nehemiah Homes are successful, and they are building mixed income housing. If I'm not mistaken, there will be increased transportation. Walmart and Shoprite fought for commercial space (Shoprite won out).

Hell no

One huge driver of gentrification is transit... Flatlands is just outside the train zone

Unless they extend the 2/5 further south, no way, Flatlands are safe.

I was being trained for my job by this Jewish woman and she asked me mad questions about the new homes (Nehemiah) and the area :lupe:

I don't think it will be truly gentrified but I can see the spring creek area becoming a little more mixed down the road with all the developments.

...aside from that, I don't live in those areas. I'm in a private 2 fam house on the other side of Brooklyn. Landlord shows no sign of raising the rent, he don't even know I switched jobs 2 years ago and got a big increase :lolbron:. It's just I spend money like a fool on weekends...just spent about $100 at a Jets pre-season game yesterday.:snoop:

Real talk though, I'm planning to boat out this city when me and my girl feel its the right time.

But where are these new New Yorkers working?

I don't think we're supposed to...

They're going to have to make a high speed train to get the service industry workers etc into the city soon.

All jokes aside I don't know if a society can continue at this rate, there has to be a breaking point.

All the service industry folks will come from Jersey and be on their way once their shift ends. That's how it is out here where I'm at, all the Black folks work for the university hospital but after about 8pm you don't see them around unless they are waiting for the bus to go home. I mean you don't even see these folks in the Starbucks, the supermarkets (unless they work there), or even the bars. I fully expect that to happen in NYC,a lot of the early 20-mid 30's Black/Latino young folks making less than 40k who have been able to get by with roommates will not be able to stick around because white hipsters in that age range are coming for the apartments they usually stay in.

I fully expect the Black NYC community to look more like the DMV Black community in the future, in which class lines are clearly drawn and the Black experience for those with college education is substantially different from those who are blue collar.

Well, the good mood I had is gone after reading this shyt

The scary part is it all looks so formal and rational, like its logical to erase all history for the greater good because every single resident was a bunch of drug-addicted gangster ******s, after all!
That was the most low key, subtle racist shyt I've read in a minute. shyt was so coded.

But where are these new New Yorkers working?
That's my biggest question
