Brooklyn Home Prices Rise to Record in N.Y. Sales Frenzy - Bloomberg

"After two months of looking, Lang and his wife concluded they were priced out of Williamsburg. They started looking in nearby Greenpoint, which is less expensive, while still increasing their budget.
On a Friday morning, they offered $690,000 for a one-bedroom apartment on Calyer Street. The owner had been seeking $699,000. By Monday, they increased the bid to $710,000 for the 827-square-foot (77-square-meter) unit, which has a private terrace with a hot tub upstairs from the main apartment.
The couple signed a contract at the end of June and plan to complete the deal in September after getting a mortgage.

yeah I was saying this a couple months ago to gina

I'll wait till the warm months are over and see what happens.

Rather buy a place in Spain and Jamaica than a two bedroom in Brooklyn anyways.

IMO Crown Heights is the best neighborhood in New York City right now, by far.

if you arent pretentious, a c00n, racist, nazi, just a cool ass homie who got love for everybody of any race.

If you want the carefree hipsters, you got that gentrified pocket west of Nostrand, north of Eastern Parkway. You want the hood blacks, they still there. West Indians (Haitians, Jamaicans, Trinis, anything u want) they still there in strong numbers. Mixing up the pot you see them Hasidic Jews, and we all know they look like nobody else out there.

Within a few blocks you got the most aesthetic library in, forget New York City, the most aesthetic I've ever seen in my life!

Looks like a Pharoahs tomb!:gladbron:

around the corner from that you got a huge park, Prospect Park, thats a legit park. You dont have the tourists clogging up the place like CP:scusthov:. its peaceful and activities often happen. Feels like Brooklyns little secret:ninja2:

Youre walking distance from Barclays Center and easy access to the best train lines, the 2/5. Fresh trains with easy access anywhere uptown/downtown Manhattan.

As far as housing, you got money and want condo style lofts? You got em in Prospect Heights/Washington ave area. You living like a regular nikka, they got something for you too plehboi:myman:

Last but not least, world famous Eastern Parkway. Its live, its fresh, its therapeutic at anyday at anytime... Lets not forget the place looks like this on Labor Day:

and its a true black event:noah:

Crown Heights is in that perfect little pocket between gentrification and legit Brooklyn neighborhood.

I dare yall to bring up a better neighborhood:stopitslime:. and i dont even live in Crown Heights.

Soon tho brehs, soon:smugfavre:

Hmm, never really thought too deeply about this. I don't live in Crown Heights either, but with the exception of the bolded, this is pretty spot on.

the a/c are on fulton

:manny:

The A is alright, but the C is just :trash:. I feel for the poor b*stards that live near local stops on Fulton.

The 4 is probably the best, followed by the A if you're near Fulton and the 3 if you don't mind going local.

Yeah, I usually take the 4, the C/F are always faster I find for where I need to be though.

So in essence you agree:laugh:

the 2/3/4/5 is easily accessible in CH. the C is basura. The A is still them old trains, it is fast but skips way too many stops express.

The 2,3,4,5 offer direct access to all major areas on the east/west side of manhattan, the 2/5 goes up the main artery of the bronx. also the 2, 3, 4, 5 has an easy transfer to just about every single train line. All the stops are easy to remember and reference . and no trains come as often as the number trains.

You cant say the same for the A or whatever other train line:manny:

VOID
Bushwick...

The rents are still relatively cheap here ($650-$1200 for single rooms/1 bedrooms) but I don't know how long that's going to last. If Williamsburg is referred to now as the new SOHO, then Bushwick/Bed-Stuy is the new Williamsburg.

Where I live now is right near the Knickerbocker M line which just got fixed up. Near the DeKalb L stop too.

Some cool places to eat and drink (check out Bossa Nova on Myrtle).

stop dissing the C train
little known fact is the C is actually one of the faster lines in the system...when they're not clogging us with the A,B,and E trains
when they do:to:
