I think when they had the second fight deku really stepped into his own... Could have literally obliterated bakugo if he wanted and almost took his head off with that back spinning roundhouse...
There was an episode where they showed how bakugo was raised and you could see why he's always fukked up and angry. Deku/midoriya was always trying to be friends with this cat when he was a kid
but no one taught him self respect even though he was quirkless. Mad people are like that IRL until they snap...

You realize that even getting a product finished on schedule and within reasonable pace of the manga is an accomplishment in itself too? there isn't another show out that has pushed out consistently quality animation for several seasons in a row like MHA has. AoT had high animation peaks, but took several long breaks. DBS has a brand that's gigantic compared to everything out, and they couldn't string together even basic sequences for arcs that leaned heavily on material from existing movie productions. Boruto put out an amazing sequence, and hasn't even attempted to push anything for damn near a year since.

season after season with movies in between. All above average. With industry leading piff at the high points. MHA fans eat better than anyone else right now due to their production engine. Even Demon Slayer can't compete. No need to downplay it

Asta is a better representation of what Deku tried to promote than Deku himself while also being an all around better character. His speeches hit harder too.

I do agree that naruto was dumb as a sack of rocks and had the personality of one too. Cant take these fools serious when theres cats like young lelouch in the anime game
