Deku is just quite frankly boring. No charisma or charm about him. You can be a good guy without being dull

I agree. Not trying to start a fandom war here but Tanjiro from Demon Slayer does the mild mannered respectful teenager way better and more endearing than Deku off rip. 50 something episodes in and I still when Bakugo snaps on him cuz Bakugo is that dude

No, he just needed to be written a lot better than he is. Deku is written too much as the fated protagonist who just gets everything thrown in his lap. A good shounen protagonist really has to fight for every step forward.

The anime is Vandread level, but Vandread was better
