I disagree (Adam Sandler uncut gems voice)

Motherfukkers aren't going to shell out $30 + a subscription for every movie. I prefer to see shyt for $5 in the theaters. It may be a savings for those with kids but not everyone has any

If the theaters died it would be cheaper just to cop a VPN than pay $20'30 for every movie. Not having it

:patrice: Okay... I'm just gonna do some quick math here. If Mulan was released in theaters worldwide on a full theater schedule it would likely make between $800 million and $1 billion. I'm not going to say more than that because Aladdin did a little over a billion, it's not as popular as Aladdin I don't think..

So let's say it made $900 million at the box office.

The studio would keep probably around half of that... little more than half. Roughly $500 million. So they are halfway there? I don't think it will reach over $500 million at this stage.

There's a reason why these studios are all postponing until next Summer. Theaters are still where the most bread at.

I said this before but don't underestimate that 30 bucks is a deal for households with two or more children. And 9 million households paying that price is hardly a strange number.

This business model obviously does not work for all films but for family films it's strong.

This isn't something they can replicate revenue wise. They can pull it off with Mulan novelty, maybe 1 MCU flick. Its not a sustainable alternative to theaters

He's agreeing
Well Universal was charging $19.99 to rent their movies which is even worse in a sense. So either way theaters dying fukks the single consumer

Hell yeah people buying it if they got kids. Mine have been begging me to get it, and truth be told it's still half of what I end up paying at the movies when we all go, so it's a smart move. Ain't gotta worry about taking kids to the bathroom in the middle of the movie, better food and snacks, and more comfortable.

Only reason I haven't got it yet is cause I don't really have any desire to pay $30 for Mulan. I didn't care for the cartoon version so not really interested in this one either. Already told my kids we'll watch it around Christmas when it's free. I see a ton of kids movies, but I'm usually interested in them too. This ain't one of em.
I heard reviews say this version isn't really for kids. She straight up murdering people all through the movie. I actually saw a kill count video on youtube.

This might actually get this to drop black widow :ehh:

Imagine dropping summer blockbusters on your app and NOT having to pay the box office 45 to 55 % of the take :ehh:
I mean realistically, the tv industry has found ways over the years to make bank off their programing without the box office. People forget but serials started out in the box office too before everyone had tv's.
