Rest in Glory James Earl Jones. Hopefully the movie will be dedicated to him if it wasn't already. I wonder will they flash to the future and have a voiceover from him one last time. Anyways, he played Mufasa in the original "The Lion King", the Remake and the direct to video sequel "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride".

Not sure how they are going to get past his lost for this though.

Yeah they going with that young Brotha Aaron Pierre for the Mufasa voice. James again did the remake and "Coming to America" as his last movies. I think they will use the voice again down the line. Like with Vader though they have a lot of vocals of him in the voice. I thought the trailer and concept did look interesting because this is like a Sequel and Prequel ala "Godfather II" at the same time with Mufasa Granddaughter learning about him and Scar's character being humanized.

The more I think about it the more I liked it. They just never let the movie breathe. It always feels like there are scenes missing in between but overall solid effort. The visuals were great as well.

There was no one in the theater but I think it will get recognition once it hits disney+

I know James Earl Jones signed a digital voice contract or some shyt a few years ago before he died so that his voice can be used going forward after his passing.

edit: It was with Lucasfilm for Darth Vader so I wonder if they will do anything with it outside of Vader as long as it stays under the Disney umbrella?

These dirtballs at Disney stole Kimba the lion. Then made Kimba the villain in this. So it looks like the Disney golden lion with black voices.
took out the big bad racist white lion.
Disney you ain't shyt. I knew when I was watching this. Something was reminding me.
why this was not sitting right with me all the way. If not for the Disney dirtball move of making Kimba the villain.
I was prepared to say.
the story for Mufasa origin is a better story than the lion king. It is not a better experience than the original. Nor have I seen the remake in cgi. Yet the actual story. to explain the origin of Mufasa was better then the story to explain simba's origin.

It never stops with this bicepless mouse.
